Sheila E Interview On Larry King Now

She says that she and Prince recorded 100s of songs that were never released, among other things.

I felt like she dodged the pain medication question and Larry King did not push the issue. I would have asked her what she meant when she previously said that they "pretty much know what happened".

Thanks I haven't seen it yet.....I will watch it on Hulu later, I think if she dodged it maybe because everything is still been investigated.....and they don't want to tip anyone off.

No she did not dodge the question. She has said all along that she never saw him take anything and maybe she did not see anything. Remember she was out of his life for a long period of time . Could be lots of things she did know but I want to know what she meant by "I know what happened and I will never tell" She is only the 5th person to imply something else was going.

That could be it. I honestly think this is a criminal investigation. If some gave him that U9447 stuff and it was laced with Fenatynal all hell is going to break loose.

It was a really interesting interview, my bf on the other hand thinks she is using Prince's death to promote herself. I don't buy it, Sheila can do no wrong in my eyes.

Well she's either guarding her friend's (P) business very tightly or her and Prince didn't talk about much outside of music. They broke up because of the music. She didn't even talk about what kind of pain he might have been going through like he never talked with her about it, she only guessed at what he might have been going through and talked about her pains like she did in April.

What I did note was how Prince just walked up to her, introduced himself and seemed to just start chatting away, not shy in that instance at all.

Naw not true to my knowledge. She had a collasped lung sometime before or after the release of her Sex Cymbal album.

She explained on Donnie's Simpson show what happened back in the day. It was a result of

working too hard and as she told it an acupuncture needle. Her and Donnie even joked about a title on the song of the album called Dropping Like Flies.

Yeah, that's what I remember too. First time I've heard anything about crack.

--- I never heard about crack but I know her accupunture story is bull. If you her book she has been through hell and back from sexual abuse. If she drugs I would not be surprised and I hope she is going to keep it together. I really think she worsiped the ground he walked on.

I always wondered what caused her lung to collapse.

That excuse is akin to celebrities saying that they were hospitalized due to exhaustion. I have never heard of anyone's lung collapsing because they were working too hard, just like I've never heard of anyone other than celebrities being hospitalized for exhaustion. The accupuncture needle, I can buy that one.

I don't think she dodged any questions here. So far no one has come out and said they knew about pain meds which leads me to believe it wasn't a long term problem because I think it would be very difficult to hide something like that over a long period of time.

He said he knew Prince was using painkillers? Do you have s link I'd like to read it. The only thing I was aware of was him talking about P having hip pain (and thus implying use of painkillers would have been for that reason).

What are you talking about? Her lung collapsed because of an incorrectly placed accupuncture needle.

Chile, that's because it never happened. In her memoir she explains exactly how she became injured at that time, the collapsed lung, and the subsequent hospitalization & paralysis she suffered wherein she literally had to re-learn to eat and walk again.

.

Sheila shares that she has been a Hennesy drinker, but keeps it AFTER show because as a player she always had to be on her A game to be the best in the room- due to constant hazing and sexual harrassment as a young woman playing "men's instruments", and always having her abilities questioned by male peers. There is even an incident where takes it to an entirely new level by trying to look out for for a female friend ( Chaka Khan )one night, not above unleashing her temper on the person she figured out was supplying Chaka with drugs.

.

She has also pointed out that growing up in a house constantly filled with musicians in the 60s & 70s Bay Area music scene kept her wary of drugs, and there was a particular incident while she was touring as a teen in a nightmare trip Columbia (where cocaine was so cheap they passed it out like candy) that cured her pretty quickly of any curiosity she might have about going down that road. I'll leave that incident for those who haven't read the book yet. In addition to seeing so many musicians around her who imbibed (and having drug use affect their work) her wariness was also in part due to her Uncle "Coke" Escovedo, who, having been nicknamed so for obvious reasons, indulged in recreational drug use throughout his life and music career, and actually passed away from health complications associated with said use in 1986.

We do a lot of Eastern therapies with doctors where I live, and according to my brother-in-law (a doctor) and a good good girlfriend (a Japanese "Heilpraktiker"/naturopathic practioner) that particular condition is known as Phneumothorax ( in German at least). It happens when an either negligent or under trained accupuncturist pierces your lungs, causing air to get inside the space between the membranes that separate your chest wall from the lung, and then that sucker starts to collapse. It can literally kill you if not detected in time. Hell, messing around with a shitty accupuncturist can get your heart pierced, lungs pierced, get your ateries and liver damaged, send you into shock or hemmoraging...but again this happens when people are either under trained and place the needles incorrectly, or just as bad, they can begin a dominoe effect of other ailments and infections in your body from being negligent & not sterilizing their equipment properly. Chile it can be dangerous out here in these Alternative Medicine skreets wink
