Complete List Of Female Collaborators

Hi! I wondered if you could all help me put together a full comprehensive list of all Prince's FEMALE collaborators. By collaborator, I mean:

a) Vocalists who have appeared on his records (or he's appeared on their records);
b) Dancers in his tours or videos;
c) Co-Writers;
d) Orchestral Soloists.
e) Keyboardists; percussionists and guitar players.

For instance, I haven't included Mica Paris, because although he gave her "If I Love U 2night" after meeting her, her song was completely Prince free - as was the Bangles' Manic Monday and Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares 2 U" - I'm just viewing those songs as covers, not collaborations.

I'll start off with what immediately springs to mind:

Gayle Chapman;
Lisa Coleman;
Jill Jones;
Vanity;
Taja Sevelle;
Brenda Bennett;
Susan Moonsie;
Wendy Melvoin;
Apollonia;
Sheila E.;
Novi Novog;
Suzy Katyama;
Marie France;
Susannah Melvoin;
Madonna;
Sheena Easton;
Carole Davis;
Cat;
Boni Boyer;
Ingrid Chavez;
Dale Bozzio;
Robin Power;
Mavis Staples;
Patti Labelle;
Chaka Khan;
Candy Dulfer;
Anna Fantastic;
Kathy Jensen;
Rosie Gaines;
Carmen Electra;
Monie Love;
Mayte;
Diamond;
Pearl;
Kirstie Alley;
Jevetta Steele;
Kim Basinger;
Ani De Franco;
Sheryl Crow;
Gwen Stefani.

That's all I can think of for now.

Yes she did design clothes and costumes. But I think she is also credited for the French rap in Girls & Boys. Hence the inclusion (I assume)

Holy Shit! That explains it! Does anyone have any idea if Wendy and Lisa were involved with this particular collaboration, as well. Meaning, could they have possibly been 1986 sessions? I am trying to find the Bonnie Raitt song that Wendy and Lisa worked with her on!

Can't tell from the top of my head, but I know it's covered in Per Nilsen's book D.M.S.R (The First Decade).
I think I remember it being one of the first things done in Paisley Park. So that would make it 1987. But I could be wrong about that. I don't have the book at hand right now, so I can't look it up. Will check about it later.

Yes - you're right. Mica and the others count because they HAVE performed with him - no matter how briefly.

Keep it up everybody!

I'm almost out of names I guess...

Yet I have one more trick up my sleeve...
Credited for background vocals and handclapz on DMSR (1999 album) are a.o.
Peggy (engineer Peggy McCreary);
Jamie (as in Jamie Shoop (From the management team));
Carol (as in Carol McGovney (also working for the management team) and
Poochie (perhaps Susan Moonsie, or some other female friend)

I swear i'm done now. smile
