Before anyone else says it: Wendy & Lisa lol

Seriously, Dez and Jesse would make an interesting pair even though I have no idea what Dez does nowadays.

One is very remotely associated but I've always been convinced a Morris Day/August Darnell duet would be an absolute killer, not so much for musical reasons but because their looks and attitudes were in many aspects so similar biggrin

I didnt think AUgust Darnell was a Prince associate. IN fact, the whole Morris Day thing is heavily derivative of Kid Creole and I think Darnell even mentions this in the liner notes of one of his reiussed albums - I thik is was in the reissue of the Doppelganger album - ironically ernough

Darnell wasn't an associate but I thought it fair to include him here since P once gave him a song. I'm not surprised Darnell felt a bit ripped off by the Time's looks and attitude because the resemblance is very obvious. However KCATC's first album only predated The Time's own first album by about a year, I don't think there was any music video from it and it was more of an underground thing at first, so I'm not sure if P and Morris were aware of it at the time. It'd be an interesting thing to ask Morris in an interview nod

There was video footage of them back then and they were well known as an underground New York new wave live act. All of this came out of the Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band that went back to 1974 and was big on the disco scene. I think there is no doubt Prince and Morris knew about them before The Time. IT would be interesting to see if Morris cops to the influence or not. I know August is aware of it.

BEAUGARDE

Andre Cymone & Prince modeled the Time's look after Kid Creole, there was no reason for Darnell to be upset. He could be considered an associate becuz Prince gave him a song, his last hit.

Adorecream

Sheila e and Jill Jones doing an album together. Back in the 80s and all the song Prince masterpieces, most tracks have Jill singing and Sheila handling drums, percussion and some backing vocals. Maybe one or two of the tracks have Prince guesting as some pseudonym on guitar and vocals.

That would be nice, professional songs too, no Vanity 6 style sexy nonsense, like the stuff Prince would give to Mavis Staples.
Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Sheila E and Wendy & Lisa working 2gether would be hot. They can all hold a tune and they all play an instrument. Sum1 make it happen!
