"Blue Limousine" by Apollonia 6

the absolute highlight of the Apollonia 6 album. When I first heard it,I couldn't believe that Brenda had such a strong voice! It's a really, really good song.It was released as the second single from the album but surprisingly,it bombed as a single confused There was no promotion or radio airplay at all.

according to wikipedia, the song reached Number 19 on the R&B chart, but I believe this info is false.

Love, one of my absolute fav's if not my number one fav from Apollonia 6. Love "A Million Miles" and "Some Kind of Lover" because of Brenda's awesome vocals as well.

Anyone know what Brenda's been up too? Did she put any music out after the band broke up?

I remember hearing it on the radio a few times. My favorite song on that album.

It's really good, but I prefer "Happy Birthday, Mr. Christian".

Love it, High energy. Didn't Brenda perform this one on the Purple Rain tour?

Yes. It was at a show in Houston, the boot is out there. It was part of Baby I'm A Star.

In 1984,the original plan was for The Time to go on a headlining tour with Apollonia 6 as their opening act. It's kinda sad that it didn't happen.I'm sure that Brenda wanted to get out there and show off her great vocals...something she didn't get to do on the Vanity 6 album.

He shouldnt have let her go

technically they didn't need an Apollonia 6 album

An album of songs with Brenda/Susan/Apollonia, Jill Jones, Possessed, and a few other cuts in the movie or that didn't make any albums would have been hot Traffic Jam, Lust U Always

Interestingly,Brenda began work on a solo album in the late 80s.It was never released, but this is the artwork for the album:

^^I think that Warners (and Prince?) assumed that the A6 album was gonna be HUGE,which is why they decided to make that video album/mini movie. It's a shame that it was never released, but thanks to Youtube,we got to see it lol

They should have released the album right when Purple Rain came out, it probably would have done better.

perhaps hmmm

at the very least, the first single "Sex Shooter" should have been released before the movie came out.....maybe in June 1984? It might have benefitted from the pre-movie hype.

I like it too thumbs up! Brenda could easily be a dance music diva if she chose to.She's got a good strong voice for these type of songs.
