Too much spotlight for Donna Grantis?

i like new band but i feel like Prince gives Donna too much spotlight.

its like he gives

her all the big solos and he noodles a bit on the anticlimax calm

parts of the songs.

Pure example is new video f 3rd Eye Girl performing

Chaos And Disorder

,she gets the main solo and Prince plays a very sub par solo ,very weak

compared to a power trio

soundboard version of the song from London O2 aftershows

Absolutely not!!! I was at the Empire experience and P played blistering solos and fills... All the girls are great rock musicians, and as with all of prince's bands he gives all of them a chance to show what they can do exactly as he has done with renato, Shelby, John Blackwell, Maceo and so on.... Prince shows no favouritism at all and is a generous band leader. Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL are a great outfit, as a band with Prince he seems
Rejuvenated and fresh...

Agreed.

Having seen Prince live twice over the past week or so, I'd say Donna Grantis makes a very positive, powerful contribution. She's one of the best musicians Prince has involved himself with in a long time.

In no way does Prince give Donna too much stage time, nor is Prince a 'guest' in his own band. Unlike the current incarnation of the NPG (where Shelby and others frequently take lead vocals), Prince is very much the focus in the 3RDEYEGIRL live shows and is on blazing form. As I've said previously, I've seen Prince about 15 times before, and Shepherd's Bush was the best I've ever seen him (or anyone) play.

Yes, I noticed that in the few clips of shows they've shared so far, from their live concerts. He does give Donna a lot of spotlight. But hasn't he done that for many of his band members? I see nothing wrong with that. He's already achieved his fame, so shedding the light on another artist that performs with him shouldn't be a big deal really, but more like being unselfish and not threatened by these artists'/musicians' skills. He did it for Wendy & Lisa, and other members of the Revolution, so why not now? It's not like it's taking anything away from his legacy. He's still Prince.

Yeah, but it's a badass solo she does. Did you see the way she handles that guitar? I have to give it to her. She has a good stage presence, better than Wendy (no disrespect to Wendy though) and seems challenging, guitar-wise to Prince.

She could do with a new hairstyle, though. I mean, at least shave the other side or something.

I am ok with Donna playing most of the guitar parts. Prince's style is pretty repetitive on guitar especially in his later years snce he has gotten lazy honestly so hearing Donna play is refreshing and a new style which I like. Its much better than the previous 10 years of rehashed Musicology shows we have been getting. Prince can jump in whenever he likes and its a bonus. I like her hair too for what its worth. I just hope he does a REAL tour with announced dates for the USA and that is affordable for the average fan. I would love to see one of these shows but can't do the $300 per ticket and I dont have the flexibility with my job to find out about a show a couple of hours before it happens. I doubt the USA will get this tour but I hope so! He always gives the good shows to the other countries.

Do you mean have both sides shaved at the same time, or wait for the current shaved side to grow back and then shave the other side?

If it's that important to you, I say the latter.

And how close should the shave be with a pair of clippers? A number 2 or a number 3?

That would be her choice.
