Rosie: I Want U (Original Paisley Version)

I recently came across this on Amazon. Very cool version of this song. I love Rosie Gaines, and still wish she could have a great successful career. There are many divas out there who have had a resurgence in their careers, Bettye Lavette, Sharon Jones, even Mavis is having a great second act these days. Keep making music Rosie!

"So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

Rosie's Closer Than Close CD is pretty good but unfortunately, when it didn't become a big hit, seems that Motown abandoned her confused It's a shame.

Yes, Rosie's cd is very good. I still listen to it today. She has a great voice so I hope she's still out there making music. Girl can sing!!

She released quite a number of other albums from 1985 to 2006, check 'em out.

Not sure if it was released in physical form or not. She emailed me the link to get it.

www.cdbaby.com, then just do a search on her.

Rosie is awesome. Right after she left the NPG and Morris took over her spot, she was still living in Minneapolis and doing her album at Paisley Park. She was at Glam Slam one night and invited a friend and myself out to the studio. We ended up going several nights. I had been in Paisley Park before, but never in an actual recording studio. That voice is a treasure! She even sat down at the piano and asked us if we wanted her to sing anything. Asked her for Ain't No Way and Diamonds and Pearls. I could have fell through the floor. I even brought a bootleg video of the Nude Tour one night and we sat in the atrium of Paisley Park and watched it. She couldn't believe that I had it on video. Kind of sad that the band isn't offered things like that. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Great times, though!!!
