Just for the record, Prince is not responsible for stunting Mayte's growth. In other words, hooking up with him. She is very, very immature and that's not his fault or problem. It's hers. I was more mature at 10 years of age than she is right now at 40 years of age. That's no lie and no thanks to my parents (or lack thereof). We are only responsible for ourselves and our own growth regardless of what goes on in our lives. We make our own choices in life. Other people are not responsible for that. It lands squarely in our own laps. cool

*

Mayte was spoiled rotten, immature & a PITA LONG before Prince got on the scene and she still is. Trust me when I say that. I wasn't born yesterday or even the day before. wink

On the topic of her boob job, she mentioned that it was because she needed it after having a baby. Nicole gave this excuse - she's had 5 babies and breast fed, and it made her sad to look at her boobies after that, so she did it for herself.
But Mayte? She's had one and she was in her early 20s, when the body bounces back really well. I've had 3 babies, and after the first, I didn't find my breasts much "damaged" (and it took me nothing to get slim again). And she didn't even breast feed, I assume (and that part is sad, I know, I feel for her about that). I just find her whole "baby" excuse very suspect. If you just want to have bigger boobies, just say so without apology or excuse - many women do. And they don't blame it on some pregnancy/baby.

That's a bunch of bologna that it was because of the baby. Please. She wanted bigger boobs (period). She honestly believes that it will improve her sex life. rolleyes

*

According to the show, she originally got enhanced 10 years ago (or so) which was around the time of Tommy Lee, or just after TL (I think). She probably saw all the huge knockers he's bedded and decided that's what all guys want. Pamela was probably an inspiration for that decision. Mayte decided to get knockers many years ago. It was something she cooked up in her own head and something SHE WANTED. This is definitely NOT a case of baggy boob syndrome. lol It was purely for larger boobs without a doubt.

Ummm.... On tonight's show when Jessica wanted Mayte to come upstairs to talk (and wasn't physically threatening her in any way) Mayte said to Drea, something to the effect of , "I will not go up there and be her punching bag. I will fight back. You know me, I've been through that before and I will kick her ass."??????The comment was ill placed and made no sense. I don't mean to be grasping at straws here, but was she referring to Prince? Surely she was not trying to let us know that he hit her was she? I know some people will attack me for suggesting this but it was an odd statement and didn't fit what was going on at the time and felt like a passive aggressive way to tell the audience something. ??anyone notice this?

OK, had a chance to watch the last episode.

*

Honestly, I don't know who or what she was talking about. However, I don't think anyone took the comments as if there were referring to Prince. I didn't. I think she was just blowing steam (as usual).

*
IMO, Mayte could have handled that whole Jessica thing so differently (in the bar). It was obvious that Jessica was very upset about Mayte's comments regarding Playboy and Mayte made those comments when Jessica was already upset about Josie at the time. It would have been so much easier to not get into a shouting & swearing match with her in the bar. Mayte even raised her hands like she was ready for a physical fight (cat like / scratch position in anger along with angry faces) and I think the ladies were genuinely concerned that she was going to hit Jessica or start throwing things.

*

It's obvious that Jessica is not proud of her Playboy deal. She regrets it now. So, how about a different approach like taking the high road? Jessica comes to you in the bar and wants to talk about it cuz she's really upset about the comments you made. Instead of getting defensive and lashing back at her, how about putting your arm around your friend, tell her you didn't mean to offend, tell her you're sorry for the comment and give her a hug. It was obvious to me that Jessica really needed some affirmation at that point. She needed a friend to come along side her and encourage her about being a good mother, a hard worker & provider for her child etc. It was really, really obvious to me that's what she needed. In fact, it was obvious to me in the room before they even went to the bar. Instead, Mayte just got got defensive and got back in her face and let her have it. She can never just humble herself and try to make things right. I'm not saying that Jessica couldn't have handled it differently too because she could have. However, Jessica really, really needed to be comforted. That was clear to me. Jessica even used body language by squatting on the ground (looking up at Mayte rather than looking down on her) as a means to communicate submission and her desire to make things right. I picked up on the submissive posturing right away. Whether her body language was done consciously or subconsciously, it was evident she was looking for support. As a friend, it's just not worth getting into all that drama and lashing back when someone is clearly in need of a little affirmation, love & understanding.

*

Also, I thought it was strange when Jessica was crying in the room about being alone to raise Josie and not having any child support that Mayte piped up and said, "Neither do I!" like making a comparison between the two. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Jessica had a child with Jose Canseco. Jose has been a deadbeat father (from what I gather on the show). Besides no child support, he hasn't been a father to Jose (he's rarely around). Mayte doesn't have that issue. She CHOSE to have a child on her own and doesn't have to deal with any of that other BS that Jessica & Josie have had to deal with in that regard. In addition, Jessica hasn't had parents or relatives doding on her and constantly available as a personal babysitting service like Mayte does. She's been on her own (her and Josie). So, IMO, it was inappropriate to make a comparison at that point. Once again, what she should have done, is just give her friend support (not compare).

Ok, just got around to seeing it.
I did not take that literally, as literal hitting. Of course Jessica was not physically threatening, she did not say or do anything physically threatening - it seems she just wanted Mayte to come up and talk further about the issue. Perhaps Mayte meant, she won't being her "punching bag" like she won't be the person on whom Jessica let's out all her frustrations.
I do think that Jessica is being overly sensitive and misconstrued Mayte's comment, and that she shouldn't have continued harping on it. BUT it's ironic that now Mayte is calling Jessica "crazy" and "bitch" when in the 1st season she was so mad that Jessica called her "crazy" (about that whole abortion thing) when she was overly sensitive and misconstrued things.
It seems that Mayte has a temper/explosion issue. I see the other ladies, and also people in real life, getting mad and having arguments, but Mayte seems more the type that SUDDENLY gets mad. You know, the type that seethes and keeps things under the surface, and then "suddenly" lashes out with foul language and physical feistiness and anger, but expects you to have known what she was feeling the whole time and therefore feels like she's the victim and that you brought her wrath upon yourself. Passive-aggressive, in short.
Perhaps she WAS trying to imply something about her life with Prince, but I don't think she's portrayed herself in a way where I'd buy her ever having been the blameless victim.
But to answer your question, no I don't think it has anything to do with actual physical violence or with prince, and so yes you're grasping at straws.
Just my interpretation.

Since I don't think anyone in GD likes KUWTK, I'm gonna post my comments here. A reality show is a reality show, whatever. razz

Tonight's episode was about Kim being pregnant and harrassed by the paparazi. I was wondering just what she does that makes people like her so much and the paparazi to go crazy/stalking her? Watching the show she seems like a normal person, nothing special. So why all the craziness?

I also wonder if the girls on 'Desperate Ex-Wives' razz get this same kind of attention or if they will since they are on a reality show?

It doesn't seem that the Hollywood Exes get the same paparazzi as the Kardashians but I could be wrong. But, just by judging on all the hubub on here for the Ex's show (which basically only consists of me and Tempest ) it doesn't seem to be getting so much attention. I also never hear about the show on any entertainment shows. I've never seen Entertainment Tonight or any of those shows mention the Exes whereas the Kardashians are everywhere. But, I love Jessica too! I wish them all well, really but Jessica, Nicole and now Shameika , are my favorites smile

I don't think Shameika will be there next year though. Or maybe she will, what do I know? They don't show her at the introduction of the show, yet? I thought she was just guest starring.

I still don't know what the Kardashians are famous for and why did Ryan Seacrest start the show in the first place. It can't be because of Bruce Jenner since the show is not named after him but the girls who sit around all day. lol

I won't be sad if it doesn't come back. It was kind of boring and irritating when they fought. It's just so stupid.

Now Gene Simmons Family Jewels I liked. It was too funny how Gene always got himself into trouble, like when he locked himself on the roof while trying to set rat traps. He's just so dopey that he's kind of lovable for a man who made a living as a big scary rock star. And his family is also adorable. Wonder what happened to that show?

Another reality show that I enjoy is T.I. and Tiny the family hustle. I do not even know who T.I. was but apparently he's a famous rapper but I like him and his family. All the little ones. He seems to be a good father with them.

Yeah, back to the Kardashians, I still don't understand all the excitement around them either. But since there isn't much else to watch on tv, I might keep watching. That's funny though, unlike the other reality shows I watch/watched, I don't get that same feeling of being inside of a nice family. hmmm

I am sort of disgusted with Ryan Seacrest, actually. He took those girls (forget their names) who were part of the "bling ring" -- who broke into celebrities homes and one of the girls had been arrested a few times for possessing heroin, and, because they were attractive and had made headlines with their robbery's, tried to make a reality show of them. Ugh. So disgusting. I'm so glad that the public never picked up on this! My daughter watched the show a few times (wish she picked better shows!) and said that the mother of the two thieving,, drug addicted daughters, said that her family was "very religious" and that they would pray by holding hands, having a moment of silence and then said in unison, "And so it is...."What????So glad the public never took up with these girls, who had much less to offer than the Kardashians! But, yeah, Ryan Seacrest will pretty much make a show of anyone who will make him money, imo.

Regarding Gene Simmons, I thought there were a lot of good episodes. I agree that he's lovable. heart I also appreciated all his kooky business ideas. He seems very driven (business wise) & is consumed with making money. He was always coming up with funny business ideas like the bikini carwash. What a hoot! lol Shannon liked to spend it as fast as he made it too (loves to shop). She and her sister were always going shopping. wink I agree, the family was great.

*

I was never a KISS fan so it was kind of interesting how I stumbled across Family Jewels. I happened to tune in one day just for fun and after that, I was hooked. lol

I think the reason the Kardashians don't seem very interesting to me is because they do sit around all day. falloff
