There's nothing really sudden about her disappearance, as far as I'm aware she hasn't been seen with P since 2010.

TBH i think the death knell was when they went on a TV show and she described the album he'd spent time and effort doing for her as 'elevator music'!

He didn't look happy about that.

Although, actually she was involved with him later as she seems to appear on some 20TEN tracks, I got the impression Sticky Like Glue was about their relationship.

Could just be she didn't like the music/media world OR didn't have the means or ability to continue without P's input.

I actually quite liked Elixer and didn't quite understand the dislike for her, she seemed cool enough.

If we stick to the facts I'm aware of:

1/ Before meeting Prince, Bria Valenta wasn't a public person: no Facebook, Myspace, etc. The only element showing she may have wanted to be a professional musician is an old demo (supposedly from the 90's IIRC) that was posted on a FB profile (hers or a fanpage IDK) in 2011 or around that time.

She was made public by Prince as early as 2006 and from that time to the end of the Lotusflow3r promotion 3 years later she never had a single online presence, she just kept silent.

3/ After her time with Prince Bria Valente did nothing to remain a public person: no Facebook, Myspace, etc, no new music or any other kind of public appearance whatsoever, nothing to indicate that she'd be trying to pursue a career as a professional musician except for that one song that popped-up on Facebook once again in 2011 (In Your Bed) and sounded kind of an Elixer outtake even though Prince doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.

Conclusion: Bria Valente never wanted to, and still doesn't want to be a professional musician or a public person! As said by others above, even off the Prince radar most other protégés kept having at least an internet presence, posting new material or trying to do live shows or to get a record deal or whatever or, in the case of Mayte, Carmen Electra or eventually Taja Sevelle using their fame to promote other (non-musical) activities. Look at Tamar, she kept being online all the time after since her Prince album was cancelled! Bria never did such a thing, and there is no reason why she wouldn't have done it if she had wanted to, so the only possible explanation, it seems, is that she's perfectly satisfied with an anonymous existence, doing whatever non-music thing she may b doing now.

She's had every opportunity in the past few years to appear in the spotlight.

Even Mayte, whose star has quickly faded participated in a show.


And, Prince's most boring female partner ever, Manuella

has become a star-fucker extraordinaire, making public

appearances, and still looking mousy as ever with her

new husband.

So, Bria's dissapearance seems to be indicative of her

not having that much interest in being in public...at

least at this time.

I still don´t get why she´s so disliked here on the org. Prince has worked with far less talented and less attractive people before but nobody complained. Her album isn´t that bad, there are some decent songs on it and she´s not as unattractive as people say. In fact, before she hooked up with Prince and changed her style, she looked even better. Calling her a tranny and whatnot is totally unsubstantiated and far fetched. She looks alright (most females here could only wish they looked like her) and her voice may not be very special but that didn´t stop Carmen Electra, Vanity or Apollonia from being Prince proteges.

She´s probably decided to take a step back after the Lotusflower project kind of lost its momentum.

Too bad for her after being in the spotlight for a few months.

Does anyone here remember the name of the singer or the videoclip where she danced? I think it was some Lebanese-Canadian dude. But she performed under her real name.

Supposedly her and her sisters came to this site and caused trouble. I'm not sure I believe this is true but I think it could be why certain fans started hating on her. I agree her voice was not very special but she really didn't offer anything special in terms of her image or sound. She was just another Prince protege and as someone mentioned in an old thread, she was more like a subservient barbie doll Prince carried for a few years.

I was here back then and I don't remember any of this, but i may have missed it i'll give u that. I'd like to hear more about it if someone has clear memories about it.

Andy got a fair share too before her album came out. I don't know, it's something people... er... trolls do here, bitching on people they've never met and almost don't know a thing about. It's quite sad actually, cuz I keep thinking on how one must feel reading such horrors about oneself, from complete strangers, on a public forum
