Awesome line up at Bunkers in Minneapolis tonight - March 10, 2013

Wow what a night at Bunkers! This was my 4th or 5th time seeing The Combo (formerly Dr. Mambo's Combo) and the band was tight as usual. I love Margaret Cox's voice.

Anyway, Bobby Z and Dr Fink were in the house and they got up on stage and performed Purple Rain with the band. Nicholas David (runner up on the Voice TV show) performed What's Going On. Fred Steele of the Steeles performed a scorching version of Yearning For Your Love (Gap Band). With the exception of Purple Rain, Michael Bland was on drums. Jellybean Johnson was there too and got up on stage between sets to tune his guitar but didn't play. If you've never seen Jellybean play guitar, you're missing out. I've seen him play with The Combo in the past and he can tear it up!

This was a great ending to an awesome weekend of music in MPLS. I'm exhausted!

Bunkers is always fun on Combo nights. nod

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Margie Cox (aka TaMara) STILL has an awesome voice!!!!! Michael Bland tore it up on the Drums!!!!! And Jellybean sat in on Guitar that nite & played Guitar on Bobby Womack's "That's The way I Feel About Cha" and Al Green's "Love & Happiness".
