Rank the songs on the first 2 Time albums

Best to Worst.

I'll start

The Time 36/60 C+

1. The Stick, 10/10 - Amazing funk and funny

2. Get It Up , 10/10 also a great funk rocker and great guitars and synths

3. Cool, 9/10 - Almost as good but drags on a bit too long, hilarious though.

then a long drop to....

4. After Hi School 4/10 Terrible pop

5. Oh Baby 2/10 - Oh dear turgid ballads

6. Girl 1/10 - Its just terrible.

What time is it - 49/60 A-

1. The Walk 10/10 - A supreme song, great bass, vocals, beat and everything and funny as hell banter

2. 777 -9311 10/10 - Another great jam, a very catchy pop song as well as funk monster

3. Wild and Loose 10/10 - Also very catchy and funky and funny too

4. One Day... 7/10 - Quite a good pop effort

5. Gigolos get lonely too - 6/10 Its a slowie and a ballad, but its not that bad, Morris sounds better here

6. I don't want leave you 6/10, Also quite a good song if false, like Peach and Black said, Morris is a hit it and quit it type guy, this song was more for Prince I think.

So how do you guys rate these albums and why

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I prefer Pandemonium and Condensate for them. The first two cds were not really my cup of tea. Ice Cream Castles was ok but the last two were da bomb!!

I love the new album too, condensate is great and strawberry lake. Morris has still got it!

My Rankings on the 2 Albums.

The Time A+

1. The Stick, 10/10 -Totally original, naughty and funky.

2. Get It Up , 10/10 A total & complete jam funky in every which way

3. Cool, 10/10 - Such a unique sound, became a classic and catch phrase 'What Time Is It?'

4. After Hi School 47/10 They were trying to go high school pop, something for everyone

5. Oh Baby 6/10 - Trying to get their sexy on, but had over loaded us with funk already

6. Girl 5/10 - A good try but obviously a filler

What time is it - A

1. The Walk 10/10 - 'Attention!'Usiing familar phrases and playful chords

2. 777 -9311 10/10 - TOTALLY UNDERATED. this was up there with the greak funkateers and should have received more recognition in awards season

3. Wild and Loose 10/10 - Again, another signature Time song with funky bass & catchy chorus

4. One Day... 9/10 - I love this and it was clearly needed to balance this out

5. Gigolos get lonely too - 8/10 I felt Morris really believed what he was singing here; cool ballad

6. I don't want leave you 8/10 - We needed more of Morris in this tempo to beleive him, but he's a soul singer but this is a real groove type sone

Overall, these albums are my top 2 from the Time so far. Ice Cream Castles was OK, but going towards being commercial.

Thanks for this, it brought back some nice memories and I had to listen all over again. Loved it.

Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.

You really love After Hi school don't you, but assuming its a typo and you mean 7/10, you have given The Time 48/60 an A+ yet the other album you have given 56/60 and it only gets an A?

How is this?

The first 2 Time albums were masterpieces. Every song is a 10. Those albums you had to be there when they were released to fully appreciate them. There was nothing on the radio back then that sounded like The Time.

i could do this.

the time

1) tlc's alright, but he's not real. guitar, keyboards, vocals, all that good shit. a little much. redeemable. "i'll funk (ck) you all night."

2) other songs with this title are good listeners. still in love with you.

3) work.

4) listen to this or watch sugar bowl.

5) watch sugar bowl for a while.

6) shake

what time is it?

1) what time is it?

2) gonna hold off.

3) yeah.

4) meandering.

5) boom tsk.

6) will leave for now.

7) beauty, style and grace.

For all time I am with you, you are with me.

The 2nd album is my favorite, but I love the Time project,

I love how they fit into Prince's vision, the interplay with Vanity 6

I Don't Want 2 Leave U... Prince and Morris were onto something there, the feel of the music was stand out Prince, similar to Dear Michaelangelo(Sheila E)

All your 10s and 9s are my top jams of these albums, although Cool would be a 10 too for me. The rest was filler, I just skip these tracks most of The Time.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
