Okay, before people rip my head off, I think Andy Allo is a beautiful girl who seems funny and alluring. I can see why Prince admitted to having "a crush on that girl." I bought her first CD and for what it was, I thought it was pretty decent. Her original CD featured a more stripped down sound of her voice with the acoustic guitar and R&B style jams that were simple. I also think she writes some good lyrics. However, after seeing her performances during the WTC shows and hearing Superconductor, I really don't like her folded into the Prince "funk batter." Some of the songs on Superconductor are cool, but overall, I don't think she fits in this zone. She is still a young artist and though she's receiving first-rate training from the master, performing with Prince and the NPG band highlights and underscores her musical immaturity. It also showcases that she's just not a funk diva, which is okay. I think if she does her instead of allowing Prince to mold her into a younger Sheila E., she'll be cool. What do you guys think?

Except for her duet with Prince on Take Me With U on Monday night, I didn't have to hear her, at all - which suited me just fine. I'm just not interested in her. And I think Prince is working with her because the ones he'd really like to work with (Esperanza Spalding and Janelle Monae) already have fully formed careers and don't need him.

It was at the After Jam last night. She had just performed and he was on stage and said it. I can't remember what he said to lead into it. However, I think it's just that, a crush. I think she's flaunting herself around him like a lot of young women who know older/rich men are interested in them. She's been very consistent in saying things like he is a great "mentor, resource, friend." I also remember them asking her about their relationship earlier on and she went out of her way to say that they have chemistry on stage and she made it seem like it was just part of the performance/act. I just feel that if they wanted to keep it private, she didn't have to go so far out of her way to make people know it's part of the act. He said it at the afterjam on 9/26 when she finished her millionth performance of People Pleaser this week. He said "I don't care what ya'll say, I got a crush on that girl." PurpleChi and I looked at eachother and laughed. In unison we said it was obvious.

Did anyone else hear that?

I found it interesting when he was trying to sell Andy before she performed, though. He was saying how she had some songs she wrote and played with an acoustic guitar. He said he told her that it was good but she needed to add some funk to it. He then said she told him, ok Prince do whatever you want. It was conflicted though because he had also said that she was so funky that when she said his name she didn't even pronounce the "n." He then said his name that way. Which one is it? It's all so contrived that I don't care. Anyone can see that she is NOT funky. Period.

Overall, I just was not impressed with her. She is a coffee house, very small venue performer. Her voice is just not there for the type of performer Prince is trying to make her. Shelby and Liv have voices that rocked the HOB. Andy's was barely there. It wasn't there at the UC on Tuesday either.

I will say that some of the songs on Superconductor sound nice. However, they just sound like typical Prince protege songs, which means they sound good but would probably be great if he gave them to someone other than a girl he is sleeping with or trying to sleep with. I agree, that the latter is true on Andy's part.

LOL Yes! If you are indeed "smackin that" as you stated, I don't think you'd have to say anything about having a "crush" on someone before a crowded club. Crush to me signifies "pre-smackin" as in you tell someone you have a crush on them so that you can get to smackin. LOL It's just like when he appeared to be serenading her during "Little Red Corvette." To me it just seemed like Prince is trying to do whatever he can to get her to notice him in that way while she's just looking like a young woman enjoying the boost to her ego that a legend is working so hard to get with her can provide. I remember she even said that he flew in and surprised her while she was working on her CD and they went to the movies. I think he really digs her but it's a one-sided situation.

LOL Did you see this one? I almost hope for Prince's sake that they do have a real relationship. If not, he's looking foolish spending all this cash trying to impress a woman who's not interested and makes certain that she emphatically denies any type of romantic involvement whenever she's asked. Prince is known for being able to snag attractive women. For his ego and reputation, I'd almost prefer her being coy instead of this approach.

I totally get what you're saying, but I really don't think she's attracted to Prince like that. I think she likes him as a friend and mentor as she says. They are so far apart in age and Prince doesn't seem like her type. She probably is looking for a young cat. With P, she's probably coming as close to the edge as possible without actually jumping off. Young women aren't that naive. They can be very cunning and manipulative. It wouldn't take much really to get an aging player to open his wallet if you're a beautiful young girl flashing smiles, laughing at jokes, being complimentary and flattering to the ego. And that P's a JW, definitely works for a woman who doesn't want to give it up! LOL

Average guys have damn near gone broke trying to pursue young women. However, since Prince is a millionaire, he's able to wine and dine on a more expensive level. I doubt that what he's done for her will put him in the poor house. Look how much he's spent on prior protegees. I think he like many men, is enjoying the chase right now. However, I think if it doesn't produce "dividends" he'll probably be on to the next one...Prince isn't dumb. He probably knows that once her CD is released and the tour is over, there won't be an excuse for her to remain around, so I'm not surprised the CD has been delayed. He's probably playing her just as much as she's playing him. LOL

I agree that she's become very cocky, but when she has Prince stroking her ego and spending lots of cash, why wouldn't she? Recall how when she first became on board she was posting everything on Facebook? She's young and immature and this ride is unlike anything she's ever experienced.

Hundred percent agree with all of this. The courting ended long ago, and if u think Prince hasn't tapped that then ur dillusional. Remember when she posted those pics of the heart she drew on ur ring finger & those statuses on twitter which were all lovey dovey ie I think I'm in love or whatever she wrote. If they aren't sleeping 2gether anymore it's either cos she got what she wanted (fame, album etc) & now wants 2 focus on her career. The critics won't buy her album if she's another gf of Prince plus she needs 2 let ppl think she's single (it's the whole illusion thing).

The only thing is he's celibate and in "rehab"...so maybe just maybe they haven't crossed that line yet....

I'm a girl (who likes guys) and I think she's beautiful BUT she has lost a noticeable amount of weight since joining Prince-land. I thought he used to like curvier girls. She does have nice breasts though.

I am a woman and I know that just like men, women like young, tight bodies as well. Prince is a handsome man, but he is 54 years old and Andy is 30 years his junior. Ya'll act like this is 1980s or 1990s Prince macking some young hottie. He can still probably have just about any woman in or near his age bracket, but most young girls ain't checking for an older man unless he can do something for them financially.

I don't know your age or gender, but I have lived long enough to know that at 23, most young girls are not looking to date someone who could be their father. My 20-something year old college students think 35 is old. They are looking for sponsors in older men, not lovers. So, those young girls dangle that carrot for as long as they can to get what they can from these old men who chase them. They get what they can from the old men then move on to someone closer to their own age. Sometimes they are secretly dating someone their own age at the same time that they are g'ing the old men for what they can. It happens all the time.

Andy is not stupid. She's been in the business a minute. She's an actress, too. She is playing her role as a sugar baby and he is playing his as a sugar daddy. They are both starring in a movie that has been playing for centuries. And I hate to ruin the ending for you, but most of those relationships do not progress to sex, no matter how much folks romanticize them. They usually come to an abrupt end when one or both of the stars get tired of playing their parts.

Ahh, so this "Andy Allo Situation" is supposed to be like the film Bamboozled? Hmm....Well, he needs to go watch that movie again, especially its ending. Spike Lee's whole point was for people to NOT emulate what occurred in that story.

When did AA first come on the scene/performance with P? Does anyone know? I think its been around a year and half or so. From that time to today.

Bellanoche must just became a Prince fan yesterday, , How many females have done an album and dropped some going back to Vanity; baby thats a long list!!!
