Did The Bird start as a live jam based on The Walk?

I'm watching a video of The Time in 1982 on the triple threat tour. The last song is The Walk, and it turns into a jam with Jesse ripping it up on the guitar. For the last two minutes they go into this routine where the keyboards and guitar scratches match what would later be key elements of The Bird. Morris and Jerome do a dance with their arms out that is close to the bird dance. And it closes with "Chilli Sauce!" and Morris, Jerome, Terry, and Jesse slide just like in the movie (except in the movie Terry isn't there of course). cool

So does anybody know, did this jam turn into The Bird? Or was there already an early version of The Bird written, and they were trying out this section? Princevault doesn't comment on this as far as I can tell.

Thanks!
