She's very goddamn underrated and living proof that the music industry values style over substance these days. How someone like Gaga pulls the numbers she does while someone like Nikka is basically unknown to most people...I don't know, and it's a crying shame. | |

Considering her image, style, music, and approach is completely different than Gaga, I am not even sure why you conflate the two.

I haven´t been following her music, I´m not familiar with her because after I saw her on the Live at the Aladdin DVD I lost all interest. She really got on my nerves there. I can´t stand it when singers overdo that melisma thing. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Please listen to Costa before commenting.....limiting her to just Soul music is insulting.

I like her style and she is great live but I dont think she has great songs, anything memorable. My favorite song is her duet with Van Hunt on "Mean Sleep". She will be less underated once she comes up with better songs. | |

Love her. Glad that I have her all too myself due to the music industry's vapidness! When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

I somewhat agree with this post. Live she is AMAZING. I never miss seeing her live when she plays here. Her albums though never quite capture the same magic of her gigs. | |
