An amazing show!!!

fDeluxe came out strong and had the crowd funked up with HighFashion, Mutiny, Desire, Nothing Compares 2 U, Screams Of Passion and River Run Dry from their first CD and Drummers & Healers, Gaslight, @8, Lover & Sanctified from the recent release, Gaslight. They also played their new track and had the CD single on sale.

Sheila E. ripped it the second she hit the stage and never stopped. Latin flavor and funk classics mixed and had the crowd on their feet and jamming along. A highlight for me was Erotic City which flowed directly inot Koo Koo. It was killer!!!! cool New tracks like Leader of The Band mixed well with old hits like Love Bizarre, The Belle Of St.Mark. She closed it up with The Glamourous Life and we loved it!!!

I hope she relaizes how much love NMYC has for her and comes back soon and often.

It was great meeting you! I had the time of my life! What a fun crowd!

"but that sex kitten act was over the top and quite uncomfortable at times and then there is her dancing" I'll have to check that put in DC tonight. Cause i saw them in Cali and I had zero problems with her sensual stage presence. Sorry it doesn't work for you.
I guess I find hot ladies ...um...hot. She can work that dance on me any time. lol

It's funny. I actually timed it by my watch when you would respond cuz I knew that comment would get to you. lol

I'm a chick who digs guys so it would not have the same effect on me like it did you and I'm glad you enjoyed it. But there were times where she was all up on Eric Leeds and the other guys and, it just didn't work. I'm sure Susannah is a sweet person and has a great voice but I'm just not into her stage presence. the other guys were cool and St. Paul was pretty cool. That's just my opinion.

Sheila E to me was sexy without trying to be sexy.

[Edited 8/30/12 8:16am]

oh no! I'm predictable lol I guess it doesn't bug me cause it's pretty much in fun. It's not like she's dating any of them..so I take it for what it is. And no props or set peices makes it a little tough to work the stage I am guessing. Sheila is a different animal...cause it's all about focus on her versus a whole band. So I'd think the stage interaction would be inherently different.

Such a fantastic show from Sheila and FDeluxe. FDeluxe was just as good this time around as they were back in October at Joe's Pub. Love me some Eric Leeds mushy and they are just an amazing band all around. I really wish they had played 'Lover' in it's entirety because that's my fave song from 'Gaslight' but I was not disappointed by their set at all. As for Ms. Sheila E....YESSS! She was stellar! The woman looks absolutely amazing and still plays her ass off on those drums. The only disappointing thing that I got from the show was that once Sheila took the stage everyone stood up in front of the booths so if you're vertically challenged (like me), you would have to stand up in the booth to see her thus blocking the people standing at the bar area behind me. Not Sheila's vault because she wanted everyone to get up and dance but some consideration for those fans who also paid the same amount to see Ms E perform as everyone else in the room would have been greatly appreciated. Thank God there were monitors and the sound system was top notch in the place so despite limited stage viewing I still got to see Sheila do her thang.

Super awesome to get to meet so many amazing Orgers that I'd heard such great things about from friends and to get to see my Purple crew is always a true blessing. Wish we could have had an afterparty but Wednesday night is a bit out of our normal afterparty planning time frame. lol Next time, we do karaoke night, house party night, or a Long Island vineyard tour. Love my purple family. grouphug

If you don't want to stand on the table, just pick a random dude and climb on his back. Preferably one drinking "thigh-warmed vodka" as he wouldn't remember sh*t in the morning anyway.

If I can sneak out of work on Monday early then I could make the 10:30 show. Won't know until the last minute though. She puts on a great show for anyone thinking of going. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely Amazing!

I think Erotic City and Koo Koo is what did it for me too. BB King's is a great venue giving the intimate setting a show like that deserves. I love how the band hung around and mingled with the fans. It was great meeting other orgers for the first time. I had a funky good time and look forward to when we can do this again.

Sheila has to come back to NYC again!!!

I MET A GUY LAST NIGHT, WHITE GUY ABOUT 5'9 who showed me and my sister his 4 Sheila Vinyls, he was wearing all black and we sat together briefly at a small booth by the bathroom, if this is you or you know who he is please ORGNOTE ME!!!!!!!!!! very cool person!!

I saw you guys talking when I went to the ladies' room... nod

Don't know him. tho.

SHEILA E. IS THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!

What an amazing night! From the moment she took the stage, she had the crowd on their feet and it turned into a big ole party!

On Koo Koo, belle of st. mark, erotic city, love bizarre, a few new songs and ofcourse Glamous Life she killed it! and she started rapping too I was like yo eek Sheila got skillz!!!!!! cool She did her thang on the percussions and the drums. Man you could tell music is in her blood and she had so much energy!

AND HER BAND, they were awesome. They sounded so good, and her backup singer is da bomb! Gotta check her out!!!

I'm soooooo glad I got to see Sheila E. live. She is so beautiful and sexy, has a great spirit and is so talented. Love her!

As for FDeluxe, got to shake hands with Jellybean, they were all cool. Gaslight, Santified, Screams of Passion sound really good live. They are a good band. Susannah sounds good live, but that sex kitten act was over the top and quite uncomfortable at times and then there is her dancing lol . But all in all they sound really good and most of all they are incredibly personable and friendly, especially St. Paul. I'm glad I got to see them live too.

I have the hugest girl-crush on Sheila right now! giggle

Susannah, however... neutral

Her "dancing" was painful to watch and I agree that the sexy has escaped her.
