LARRY GRAHAM & GRAHAM CENTRAL STATION: tonight in Groningen, tomorrow in Zoetermeer

TONIGHT Larry and GCS are performing at the OOSTERPOORT in GRONINGEN, the famous Northern Dutch city and venue where the annual "Eurosonic Noorderslag" international music convention takes place. With all the activity taking place today at the venue, one could imagine that something special will be happening tonight. I'll keep you posted if more details become available.

TOMORROW Larry is rounding off his Spring tour with a show at the BOERDERIJ in ZOETERMEER.

Yesterday a friend of mine who knows the A&R guy from Larry's new label, informed me that Larry had presented his new album (including the collaborations with Prince) to the record label and that they are super excited: apparently the new album is really really funky! Cannot wait to hear it.

Last but not least, the London gig scheduled for April 4th will now take place on September 10th at the same venue (Clapham Grand in London). Given the fact that the new album's release is postponed to September, it was apparently decided that it would make more sense to come back to London with "a big bang" when the new album drops. And given the fact that it's apparently such a great album, it should also get quite some media support. Hope to see Larry on the BBC's "Later with Jools Holland!"

JB

In the Main Hall there'll be the Matthäus Passion tonight... I guess that'll explain the activity at the Oosterpoort...

The GCS-concert is in the small hall and only 500 tickets (out of 800?) are sold...

SONNYT

Why do the rest of the Spring European dates with no new album to promote, but postpone the London show? Gutted! Would be good to see Larry on Jools Holland though....Gonna have to get a refund now on my Clapham Grand tickets as I will now be away on that date. Typical.

Yesterday's gig was awesome!!! The concert started with a "it's great to be in the Netherlands-jam" and continued with a whole lote of GCS-songs: we've been waiting, ain't no fun to me, it's alright, I can't stand the rain and feel the need... and Larry played one song of the upcoming album: Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground...

that was the first part of the show...

the audience had to chose their favourite Sly Stone-songs: family affair, if you want me to stay (one guy from the audience had to come on stage to do the singing), hot fun in the summertime, everyday people, thank you faletime be mice elf again and dance to the music (one of the highlights of the concert!!!)... anyone that wanted to do something (playing guitar, playing the organ, or singing etc) was invited on stage... It was one big party

Then there was the jam and the show ended with I want to take you higher...

great evening... everyone in Zoetermeer have fun tonight!!! It's going to be funky! cool
