Interview w/ The Revolution ... Requesting your ?s

Hey folks,

Last year, I had the opportunity to share with you an interview we conducted with The Original 7ven. Well, it looks like we will have the chance to sit down with The Revolution this weekend. I'm not sure exactly what form the interview will take. Maybe it'll be shorter. Maybe it'll be longer. All is dependant on the time that the band is able to grace us with.

To get to the point: What would you like to ask them? I cannot promise that we'll get to ask any/all of your questions. But, I'd love to have your input.

Thanks,

Tim

Are there plans for any more concerts after the show in Minneapolis?

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

1. If The Revolution hypothetically recorded another record, what would it sound like?

2. Ask each one what their favorite Prince & The Revolution song is.

3. When can we expect each of their tell-all books to come out, and what exclusive "shockers!" can we expect to learn.

Give Bobby Z our thanks and love for his time and efforts for such a worthy cause and for putting this together for the fans.

Don't have anything else to add, just that I would love to read their answers to these questions too, so my vote goes behind these Q's smile

I'll back-up above questions about the future of this project and Prince's reaction to it.

And where is André?

In what ways (musically) do you feel you have grown since the early days of the Revolution?

Since someone asked about the Revolution recording together, how about asking Wendy and Lisa if they plan on recording an album anytime soon?

I would ask them with this being billed a first annual, with how this show went, will it be on a bigger scale next year, and will they all be back to do it, and would they keep it in Minneapolis or do it in a different city every year?

What changes did Bobby make healthwise, and what does he miss that he had to give up? I'd ask the others how this affected them, did they know anyone with a heart problem, and did it impact their own health, like getting checked up? Also, what is his outlook on life today that he didn't have before the heart attack?

I know a lot of people who have heart attacks are told to replace the salt with Mrs Dash, and you pretty much eat a whole different way - has he found a new favorite dish to cook up?

Even if they don't reunite as The Revolution in the future & live in different parts of the country, could they see themselves working together again on original music?

If Purple Rain's on TV, do they keep it on or change the channel? And in 2014, the 30th of Purple Rain, and hopefully the 3rd anniversary of Bobby's benefit, should we expect something big? I think 2013 would be huge too, because of the live tracks, which were also for a benefit.

And get one band story out of them that they've never told before, from each of them, because they're all going to have different memories, and different versions of the story.

Let them know the Rock Hall has started inducting backing bands - hope we see the Revolution inducted!

I think that's a great question. I myself was told to lower my cholesterol and reduce salt intake. I would like to know what his new favorite healthy meal is. ...and how to make it. smile

It's derived from "Butzie", a Yiddish nickname his grandmother called him as a child.

1. How often do they keep in touch with each other since Bobby's heart attack?

2. Are they aware of the numerous bootleg recordings(audio and video) that they did with Prince? How do they feel when they come across rehearsal footage or audio on youtube or fans send them to them?

3. How do they individually feel about the legacy of the Revolution as a whole and individually?

4. Fondest memory of the "camp"-(them, the Time, Vanity 6) ?

5. If the walls at the old rehearsal warehouse could talk what would they say? lol

Just a quick update. Last night was amazing. Bobby and the band gave us great access. However, they were in quite the rush when we had the interview, so it was brief. Not as brief as they had warned us while we were setting up ("You've got two minutes"), but nonetheless brief.

So, I appologize that we didn't get around to your questions. The story is scheduled to air on Fox9 in the Twin Cities on Wednesday night. It'll be on the web shortly thereafter. We also got a chance to sit down with ?uestlove, so (I believe) both his and The Revolution interviews will be on the site in their entirety.

I'll post links here when they're up.

Thanks again,

Tim

Sounds great! Thanx for including us in your interviews. Great stuff.

Bobby's last name is Rivkin (his brother is David).

Zimmerman is Dylan's true last name.
