SONNYT

I would love to see a tour involving THE TIME (Original 7even...or 6ix) and Cameo! Bring it to the UK. It's a pity Jesse Johnson is not involved, but I'm sure he'll get along fine with session guitar playing and with his solo stuff. Jesse should do a tour too.

this is good news and hopefully songs from condensate will be in the set list and i'm not talking about one or two songs either

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

That was a nice statement. I'm glad that they are not giving up.

As for Jesse quiting, we don't know his reasons for doing that, only he knows it. He is a good musician regardless.

I agree. that three hour conference call musta been a heated one for Jesse to throw in the towel. but oh well. So sorry he will not be performing but thrilled that the remaining six will keep this awesome project alive!

Yeah, I'd also like to hear a heavy dosage of Condensate and Pandemonium in their show. They still pull out the classics, but not have them be the majority of the show. A good show for me would go something like this (not in any order):

Strawberry Lake

Toast To The Party Girl

Jerk Out

Skillet

If I Was Yo Man

Ice Cream Castles

777-9311

The Walk

Faithful

#Trendin'

Girl

Cool

Sometimes I Get Lonely

It's Your World

Jungle Love

My Drawers

Gigolos Get Lonely Too

I Don't Wanna Leave You

The Stick

GoHomeToYoMan

Sick

This could be a TERRIFIC 2 or 2.5-hour show, easily (can even add a couple more like Condensate, Get It Up, and/or Shake!)!! This is a very good, varied yet funky representation of their discography while still bringing their newer tunes to the forefront (and this list STILL allows the older classics to shine through). Had to put a few classics in there, of course. But if you've noticed, I left off The Bird. That shit was intentional!! I don't wanna hear that shit no mo'. Have Toast To The Party be the closer, jamming on it - the starting and stopping - for 10 minutes. Make that shit REALLY funky!

I talked to Jellybean after the fDeluxe gig last night. The Time are obviously not happy at all with what Jesse has done especially given that he totally blindsided them all with the news. But Bean did say they will hopefully be doing some UK gigs later in the year once they have found a new guitarist and they are certainly are not abandoning the project.

I like Jesse & wish him well but in my opinion , it was just down right tacky the way he went about it. Sometimes it's not what you do and say , it's how you do and say things .

It reminded me of how when that r&b group Dru Hill was at a radio station getting ready to announce some tour dates and one of it's member who clearly knew and participated in the group meetings, went live on air and decided he was'nt going to be in the group anymore catching the other members off-guard : THEY WERE PISSED :

Jesse at least owed the other members some respect instead of airing it out on facebook :

Truth is , he might have already been working out a deal with D'angelo behind his group members back.

It's ok if you no longer want to play Prince penned songs , but at least give your band members the mutual respect that they deserve and what makes him look like a sucka is that , they had a conference meeting the day before. His ass should've spoken up then :

Nevertheless, I love his talent and wish him well, but hate how he did it.

They can still use the "O7" name, because they DID start with seven and it's still catchier than the "O6+1" or something like that.wink

Keep the name and invite Jesse back to be a part of a new album (if there ever is one). This is something I wish Fleetwood Mac would do with Christine McVie. It's not all about the touring---it's also about what's on wax.

I know, right? lol

I took some heat for the way I lambasted him on the other thread but my thing is, ya don't reneg on a commitment, especially the way he went about it.

I still have the utmost respect for his talent but not so much for his ninth-grade-schoolgirl behaviour.

Rumor had it that he was distraught over a girlfriend. My girlfriend at the time told

me that they had reported on Entertainment Tonight that he threatened to kill himself.

The record store clerk told me the same thing to at the place where i used to buy

music.

Yeah, that's the "rumor" that was going around then. I also remember reading the speculation that he was back on the shit again, which would help explain the crazy behavior.

True! But without Jesse its not the same to me. His segment was the highlight of the show for me. The remarks that people make that he didn't look like he wanted to be there is an insult to his craft. Its not true. Jesse was very excited about this reunion in interviews more so than anyone. Never heard him talk so much in all the 30 years of the group. Whether he grew up with them or not he was there from the beginning of the group and is just as much important as any of them. Obviously they had some major issues on decisions being made that he didn't agree with.
