Sugar Walls + Love is Contagious These are two of my many favourite songs Prince gave to other artists.
I love the raw funk and naughtiness of Sugar Walls (given to Sheena Easton)
Love is Contagious is just beautiful (I would recommend Taja Sevelle's whole album, its great).
Any 1 else share the love? [Edited 11/28/11 15:39pm]

Not a big fan of Sheena, but I do have 3 Taja releases and they are all great. The debut, Fountains Free, and Toys of Vanity...I think those are the names. TRUE BLUE

Prince had nothing at all to do with Love Is Contagious. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

^ That song has Prince written all over it (but not literally!)...

I must admit, there are times when I've come back to the Taja album and totally forgot the credits and thought 'wow, LIC is a great track' mentally crediting it to P. and the 87/88 stripped down production sound, then smacking my forehead when I've read the credits on the LP again!

^ I'm sure he was involved, just uncredited. There even was a recording or a video of it I believe on the NPGMC back in 06 and this summer at the 03 July 2011 Hop Farm gig, the video was played before the concert started...(these were a string of videos of songs he wrote for other artists). She used to be his girlfriend, he definitely gave her 'Wouldn't you love to love me?' at least. [Edited 11/29/11 8:37am]

yes.. he did give her 'Wouldn't you love to love me?

...and "If I Could Get Your Attention". When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

^ Correct. Nice song. A song he also gave to Mayte although her version remains unreleased....

I like both songs. | |

It was on his label. That's the end of his involvement.
It is a fantastic song and the 12" Extended version is a must-have as well. Check out Fun With Vinyl Vol. 3. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I love Sheena Easton "Sugar Walls". I really like all of the tracks Prince wrote for her. I prefer the single-mix of "Sugar Walls" to the album version. The guitars are a bit punchier. The single mix appears on "The World of Sheena Easton: The Singles Collection". The album track, of course, appears on "A Private Heaven".

Does anyone know if he was involved in any or many other Sheena Easton songs? I heard about 101, any others?

I have only heard Prince's version of Eternity but I really love it...

^ Often credited as a production but that was a cover and he had nothing to do with this version.
As for Love Is Contagious, I think this era's recordings have been sufficiently documented: we'd know 4 sure if Prince had had anything to do with it. The fact that he played it before shows proves nothing: obviously considers everything that was released on PP as his (and legally speaking it IS actually his), so him using it doesn't mean shit...

Odd that he had nothing to do with it, but it's credited to him in the liner notes. It's usually the other way around. I'm not convinced. Thanks for the link though. TRUE BLUE

I don't understand: credited for what? I used to have the CD and as far as I remember he received nothing but writer credit A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Prince composed "Eternity". I have the Sheena Easton EMI single and album (CD) from which it appears in the liner notes. The same applies to Chaka Khan's version which appears on her 1988 Warner Bros album - C.K.

In your earlier post you stated that Prince had nothing to do with the song Eternity and then added a link to the Vault which states the same thing. I guess in my opinion that writing a song, pretty much means that the song wouldn't exist without you. TRUE BLUE

I think the confusion being displayed about Eternity can be cleared up this way. Maybe:
Sheena Easton - Eternity: Prince wrote, produced and performed on the track, though he used proprietary pseudonyms for the release.
Chaka Khan - Eternity: Prince of course wrote the song, but production and performances on the track were done by other artists. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I remember when Taja Sevelle's album was released and the credits stated that it was produced by "Bennett" Many people assumed that this was just Prince in another one of his disguises, but the man really exists. He was actually Taja's boyfriend at the time.

Yeah that's pretty much that. Chaka's version is a cover of a Prince song so yeah of course he WROTE it, but when I said he had nothing to do with it I meant that he wasn't involved in this recording. If I cover a Prince song tomorrow and release it on my album, u can safely claim that Prince has nothing to do with it, and it won't be included on Princevault.com, because Prince just doesn't chose who covers his songs and how they cover them, and therefore covers cannot by any mean be included in his discography.
