Am I the only one who thinks that "My Man" should have been the first single? That song is a perfect pop song and it's much more radio-friendly than "Mia Bocca".I think it would have been a Top 40 smash in 1987.

I agree. Mia Boca was a terrible choice for a first single. My Man would have been a far better choice.

I love Mia Boca mostly for the intro. After the intro is over I usually go on to the next song. Not that Mia Boca is not a good song, it's that there are so many good songs on this album.

I like "Mia Bocca" but I don't think it stood a chance on pop radio in 1987.Those few who did hear it on the radio probably wondered what it was about,lol."My Man" is a more direct song with a strong chorus.Out of all the tracks on the album,it's the one that had the most hit potential,imo.

I agree: "my man" would have been a better single choice, its one of my less favourite tracks on the album, but surely the most poppy, it somehow reminds me of True Blue-era Madonna.

G-spot as second single surely deserved a proper video. That song was very popular among the incrowd over here in Holland, but fortunately not a big hit in the charts. It could have been maybe with the help of a strong video.

And enough cannot be said about Clare Fisher. His work added as much or more to the Paisley sound than Eric Leeds during this period. It took The Paisley sound to a much higher level.

To realise Prince and Clare even never did meet, but created such brilliant arrangements together, is still impressive to me.

Screams of passion, River run dry, Nothing compares to you, Crystal Ball, Christopher Tracey's Parade, I Wonder U, Mia Bocca, Violet Blue, Baby youre a trip: Clare ads so much to these arrangements.

Arrangements which were very innovative also: when i listened to Bjork's albums Homogenic and Vespertine from this new millenium, i realised Prince (and Clare) allready did combine drum-machine beats with symphonic orchestrations in 1986, 15 years prior to that.

Of all the Paisley Park albums, Jill Jones' album Was Miles Davis favorite one. I can understand why, it's a masterpiece!

There was only one video, but it is considered as one of the bests of the 80's, can't say the same about Taja's ones...

Eye listen 2 "my man" alot its a great song 1 of my faves and eye agree would have been a monster single...Along with a video...
