Thanks for the review and the amazing pictures. In the pic above I see not only one but TWO Hohner guitars that look exactly like the ones that Prince plays. Did Jellybean play those, too?

Interesting that Paul personally went to Paisley Park to talk to Prince about "The Family" name. And he STILL said no, as we obviously know. There Paul was, trying to mend any OLD broken fences, and Prince still wanted to be a dick about it.

Pffft. Whatever. They're better off being completely out from under the Prince umbrella anyway, so good riddance. Chump. disbelief

So you're going to make assumptions based on a conversation you were not privy too? We've only heard one side of the story and I'm going to leave it at that. I've always been a huge fan of these groups moving away from the Prince shadow, including the name and doing their own thing. A name should not stop them from doing what they do best. They perfromed to a packed house didnt they and everyone seems super excited about the tour and their new cd and I expect the same for the Time or Original 7ven even though that name sucks

One of the best parts (to me?). They are leaking their own footage on YouTube.

Way to go. I am super excited now for this week's shows (I couldn't make MPLS) and I am also interested in how much they Really Get It -- particularly compared to some other approaches to YouTube that might rhyme with 'chintz' or 'mince'.

I had a blast...absolutely love Sanctified and Lover from the new album..as well as Gaslight. The album is enjoyable. So good to hear their voices and Eric Leeds classic sounds again.

I got my CD signed by St. paul and Jellybean..and I asked them seperatley two random questions.

Jellybean: "How long did it take you to compose 'Criticize' "? He said..'about a week!' excited

St Paul...I spoke to him at the Family Reunion show about Soul Touch, so I decided to ask him about "Intimacy". He said "it took a good couple of days..it's been so long I don't remember but my sister actually helped me write that one"..he then personally introduced me to his sister and she talked about the composition and said he was pretty natural going into doing that song. She said about 3 days at the most. I was very thankful to dance with Anxiety, and give a big hug to the keyboardist (he was a kinda thick cutie) and Mario (the drummer).

They said W&L are supposed to be doing some jams out in LA! Its a must see.

They also are selling he album on vinyl, but I think it only had 4 songs on it.

There were three on eachside I believe. Oliver Leiber was playing rhythm guitar, St. paul was playing bass and I think Jellybean was doing electric and rhythm secions.

Ironically, wonder makes the point MOST people make when hearing the new name. It sucks. And people have NO CLUE how hard it is to come up with an original band name. I can see (tho don't agree with) peoples point about The Family. But The Time has been touring in some form or another for DECADES. Also- at what point do people witness the same crappy behaviour over and over and start to look for the common thread?

Oh please. if Prince would have come up with that name I am almost sure you too would be all over on how silly it sounds regardless of how hard it is to come up with an original name. Matter of fact I'm almost certain of it. I don't know what Prince's reasons/motives are or the legalities that are involved or what the relationships are (maybe its sour and they can't stand each other behind the scenes. I don't know. I just reserve my opinion until I know what the issue is on both sides. They are far too talent to allow a name to stop them from doing what they're doing and I'm glad their are touring as a band and putting out new music. I do wish all was on big happy family. If that is Prince doing then it sure is unfortunate. At least now Prince should no longer be an issue and they can do what they do.

Amazing how some people think that all these bands are changing their names just for hell of it lol

By ANY name, I wish them all the best because my magical world of Prince wouldn't have been half as rich without all these key players including The Family and The Time.

I love Prince, always have, always will. But I am well aware of the fact that he is a DICK to a lot of the people he has surrounded himself with past and present, but it all boils down to it's their private relationship with him. So if they DO choose to talk about it, it is their right to do so.

ANYWAY........hearing a lot of positive feedback about the Gaslight album. I haven't heard the whole thing yet but I can tell you that Lover is going to be hard to beat for me, it's pure heaven.

Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Up above you mentioned 'Lover', 'Sanctified', and 'Gaslight' as being your favorites on the album.

Those are stand-outs for me as well. Sanctified at this point is probably my fav. I'm not good with

defining music... but for me it has a bit more zippy, funky feel to it which I really like; and together,

yes, they work well! And 'Lover' is a close second. Now today, I'm feeling a fondness for

'When You Go'.

Btw, it was most definitely a pleasure meeting you and your friend at the concert. I'm happy

that you got a couple autographs! I managed to get Eric's signature in addition to Paul and

Jellybean. Such nice, down-to-earth guys...all three cool

It was very nice to meet you!!! hug I am glad you had a good time! I didnt know Eric came out at all ..I didnt get a chance to see him. I have to agree they were down toearth and not full of themselves at all. So happy even Bobby Z was standing around with everyone in the crowd chillin. The album does have a 'zippy funky feel'. It sounds happy and free almost in parts....you can hear the collaborative efforts in the music.

Oh please. Don't give me that. Prince probably doesn't even have an idea why he said no. Lol! The only reason he said no HAD to have been control. What else is it ever about with him? Having said all that, in my message, I didn't even say or assumed what his reason for saying no was. I just said that the outcome was a big N-O. So your response to my post was actually invalid anyway. rolleyes

Aww, that's sweet...thanks. hug As for Eric, he was the first one at the autograph table...but

he didn't stay long, and I never did see Susannah. It was nice to see Bobby Z mingling with

the crowd. Anxiety had to point him out to me, otherwise I'm not sure I would have known

who he was boxed lol

It definitely was a fun evening! And I wish f'deluxe the best on their new journey...hopefully

all the concerts will be sell-outs for them!!
