Sheila E's House live @ Yoshi's 2010-2011

After doing some threads on Prince's W2A & 20Ten shows, I've also been checking out the serious Paisley happening of the Purple Princess Sheila E.

Sheila has always been very pro 1980's vibe in remember and keeping alive that excitement

She said in an interview recently and over the years that those days to her seem just like yesterday.

I've watched some of the Yoshi SF shows and the excitement was just off the hook. Hearing songs like Pop Life, Hollyrock, Glamorous Life, A Love Bizarre, America & Olivers House

Seeing her jamming with some of her 1980's band mates including Eddie M & BrownMark was just lovely. I think I would love to have these shows on DVD.

If you have any pics and concert/show information, set list etc please do share

Sheila E at Yoshi's Jazz Club in San Francisco

Jeannine & I recently saw Sheila E at Yoshi's Jazz Club in San Francisco. Sheila's show was energetic & funky from the moment she took the stage and included hits from the past like A Love Bizarre, Holly Rock, Sister Faith and of course, Glamorous Life. She also performed Prince's Pop Life and a new song that he wrote for her called Leader of the Band.

We were sitting in the front row and by the end of the show I decided that I had to take advantage of the opportunity and shoot some video of her (I wasn't the only one). I managed to record her encore performance of Glamorous Life.... a dancing Jeannine can be seen throughout the clip.

After the show, Sheila signed memorabilia and when I asked her to sign a copy of her new CD she told me that she was me recording her and she told me that I was "naughty". She laughed it off & said she knew that I was having a good time. And she was right, her show was easily the best live performance that I've seen since we last saw Prince (Musicology Tour) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Here are the "illegal" photos and video that I took. I also corresponded with Sheila on Twitter and she encouraged me to go ahead and share the videos on the Internet which I did (on YouTube). I will definitely try to see her perform again...... she takes pride in making sure her audience has a good time.

The quality of the photos aren't the best because I couldn't use a flash but it was well worth the effort & embarrassment.
