I don't see how anyone could think that is Prince in that pic.The person in the pic is obviously tall Look at those long legs!

Hmmmm I would love 2 see her catting around with Prince on stage, W2A is prime time.

But I remember people saying that Prince was in drag too, back in the days. I never thought it was him.

Here's a story:

I hung out with Richard Hallmarq's crew, filming Cat's fashion shoot for two days. During this time, Cat was sharing great stories about her career and she was very energetic and funny. I met her in her hotel room, where the whole crew was getting ready to go to the location. I walked into the room and found myself face to face with her. Obviously, I'm a big ol' Prince geek, so I was struggling for words for a moment. I finally said "I've admired your work for years." She said thank you and smiled and I could hear Richard cracking up.

We all sat and talked for a bit, and Cat said I reminded her of a musician she worked with (no not Prince, a european guy that I can't remember his name). From that moment, she was like an instant friend. What I took from the time I spent with her, which was too brief, is that this is a person I would be friends with, no matter what she did for her career. She's introspective and aware.

Nearing the end of the first days shoot, the crew talked about going out dancing at a club. I declined and said I was going to go home. Cat said "Come here and give me a hug" and I did. Thing was, she was lying down on her bed, so that moment was a little unreal for me.

Just as I was about to hit the door, someone suggested we all go out to dinner instead. Now that I was interested in. We went to a nice italian place and talked for a couple hours. Cat shared more stories of her life and people she'd met. When it was time to go, Cat asked if I'd drive her back to her hotel. Of course I would.

It was cold out walking to my car, so I offered Cat my leather jacket. Once we got in my car, reality hit me. Cat Glover is sitting in my car, wearing my jacket. Holy crap. I mean, I saw Sign of the Time four times in the theater, owned the VHS, Laserdisc and a couple of DVDs of it.

What made it all ok was that she was such a cool person. We drove back to the hotel and ended up talking about Stephen King of all things. Ends up we're both fans of his. I took a wrong turn, which made the ride a little longer and made a joke about it being "an accident". I dropped her off at the hotel and went home.

The next day was an equally fun shoot, inside an artist's studio. We had a lot of down time, so Cat and I hung out. On the video I posted, the original has an extra segment at the end, where I'm on camera with her and she says "Yes, I know Jace" as an in-joke to some friends of mine that are Prince fans. She also made a comment about "and he bums cigarettes from me", which was true.

We talked about all kinds of things, from current music, to rumors from fans (especially from this site, which she was visiting during that time), to meditation. When it was time to say goodbye once and for all to everyone, she made an interesting comment to me. "You are the one who knows me the best". It sounds like a strange thing to say to someone who she'd just met the first time the day before, but I was flattered. I think she meant out of the group, and I think a lot of it had to do with that since I was just filming certain things, I had a lot of time to talk with her while everyone else was putting in a lot of work.

So, I hope that helps shine a light on the person Cat is. Forget the rumors, she's a real person who is amazing. I want to see her do more work in the industry again. Her story is not done yet.

This was the pic that I recall as generating the most lively discussion and debate amongst myself and my Prince-y friends back in the day.

Has anyone gotten more mileage from less with Prince than Cat? SHe was really just a dancer for some of the greatest tours.
