Just bought two great floor seats close to the stage at the 10 p.m. show. There are still several good tables available for the second show on the 26th. Get them while you can. Seeing Sheila E. in such an intimate venue is a real treat! I went to see her show last year and recently went to the Escovedo Family show. Both were great...but Sheila really unleashes her energy and talent when she is performing alone. Don't miss this if you have the chance to go! biggrin

As an added note: I also saw Sheila E. perform at Prince's concerts in both New Jersey and Oakland and she stood toe-to-toe with Prince in both spirit, energy, and performance ability. In fact, they just seemed to be having the best time together at the second Oakland show... Their mutual musical comradery is such that Sheila E. included this thank you note to Prince in the recent E Family CD: "Prince, you're my musical soulmate, I love u!" So, I hope that will lay these stupid rumors about problems between them to rest! But, in the context of the Org, it probably won't! razz lol

I think most org and FB fans are attending the 10PM show. Stick around if you can. I think she played a longer set during the 2nd show last time.

She does indeed sign after a show. She signed her CD and a pair of drumsticks for me at the show last year. I must warn you--the signature is backwards--looks like some kind of heiroglyphics! lol

When I bought tix, my choices were table right by stage for 8pm, or 10pm in second section.

I wanted to be close cool

I'm not attending both....dropped over $500 for Prince so gotta be smart with the dime biggrin

I don't see why she wouldn't sign an old 45! She would probably think it was cool that you are still listening to her vinyl! She is such a nice person--her whole family is great! biggrin

^^^ They were indeed there tonight! What a treat. And Sheila brought her terrific musicianship and great personality to Yoshi's as usual. Great fun! I thoroughly enjoyed the concert, but then...I always enjoy Sheila E.! wink i

Sheila was great!!! I was at the 10pm show with seats near her drum kit. Yoshi`s is a very nice club that looks like it holds 400 people only. The show was sold out. Some of the songs she played was, Leader of the band,Olivers house,Hollyrock, love bizzare and of course The Glamorous life as a encore. She played a couple of songs off the new E family cd. The audience was yelling for Erotic city. She sang the first 3 words and stopped and said I cant do that song and say those words. She was in a great and funky mood. She brought people on the stage to dance and played the drums for a bit. After the show, she was signing her new E Family Cd Now & Forever. I asked her where can I get the song LEADER OF THE BAND? She said its not available yet. I know she sold it last year but I dont know why she stopped putting it out. Its a great song.

I was at 10pm. It was AMAZING! I don't know how it's possible but it was even better than the one at Yoshi's last year.

Maybe having Eddie and Levi brought some extra engergy..... Oliver's House was INSANE!!!

And yes I noticed the Krush Groove/video dancing when they did Love Bizarre! smile

I assume that set list (how did you get that photo??? smile ) is from 8pm? What was the "Prince intro"? I don't think we got that for 10pm, they just said "The greatest female musician of all time" (which is true) and they went into Leader of the Band.

I don't know if any of y'all caught this, but during Love Bizarre they were really jamming, but the band kinda messed up...... Sheila motioned to them to do a change or turnaround and she started singing that part but they were still on the main groove. They played it off so most people probably didn't notice. Consdiering the band had only rehearsed that day... I am in no way being critical! I've had that happen in my little piddy bands way too many times! wink

Hi Gary. I yanked the set-list after the 10pm show. I did hear bass lines of Erotic City and Pop Life during the band intro before Sheila entered -- very subtle -- guess thats what they meant by "Prince Intro".

PS -- Do you have an audio copy of Leader Of The Band from the E2U CDR?

Peace,

Jude

Jude, I keep fogetting this is "you" on the Org smile So you got the set last?? that is awesome.

I remember them doing the bassline to Erotic City while Sheila changed (though the keyboard guy never came in with the chords!). But I don't remember music when they introduced her. I was probably too excited!

I do have the E2U cd. it's in my car!

GaryMF, I love that you GET the brilliance of Sheila and how tight her band is/was... As much as I love Prince, Sheila's set/choreography always gave him a run for his money. And I'm gonna orgnote you about that CD. Cool?

This inspired me to go to my keyboards and try and learn Oliver's House (at like 10:30pm!)

I got the main riff, and can fake my way through the synth part this new guy was doing (I'm sure my neighbors appreciated that!) but not all the little changes yet.
