Some questions about Vanity... Sorry, I know you guys have probably discussed this a BILLION times before so don't give me that flogging the dead horse emote, but I'm new and this place is the best way for me to learn new stuff about prince & co.

Did Vanity really write all the songs from her solo albums? Did she have co writers? Do you think Prince ever heard Samuelle? If Samuelle is really about Prince I wonder why they never got back together. The song is so sad and personal, it sounds like she was head over heels in love with him. Does anyone know the best place to find OLD articles or videos of Vanity? I've watched every single one on Youtube. Is there anywhere else to see Vanity vids? Go to the associated Artists section...we have talked tons about Vanity in that area. Have fun! Also you can use the google search icon in the top right hand corner for all the past goodies! I assume you are referring to "Wild Animal" and "Skin On Skin" and not the Vanity 6 CD. Its my belief that Prince probably listens to everything any of his protoge´'s release...to see if there's anything to sue them for - like stuff that they wrote that he owns. 
Prince was just one in many of her life just like she was one in many of his. [Edited 8/11/09 17:23pm] She must be really talented then if she writes and does her own melodies. They must have been very deeply in love though if she wrote Samuelle about him, and he possibly did Purple Rain about her. Maybe she just did it for publicity... | |

She's a beautiful lady who during her commercial hight had an incredible charming glow and from a few interviews i saw was communicating down to earth, despite her unfortunate addiction. Her voice is okay though, but imo not on that level that i would say it's her natural gift. | |
