Maybe, maybe not but what's in a name? Maybe they'll go the same route as the Family and let us name them. IMO the publicity from that contest would give the new name relevance among the base (who will by this disc in droves).

The big question is who would sing lead...
my vote would have to be Jill Jones.

Jill wasn't in the Revolution. And most all the Revolution members can sing on their own, so why not share the lead vocals? I would think that Mark and Wendy would bounce back and forth the most.

Lisa has an even stronger voice than Wendy,

Jill was an un-official band member I say, she was so much a part of the group, it would be cool to have her

Per Brownmark on Facebook, "I think a Revolution CD is definitely going to happen. Will keep U posted."

R U Ready!!!!!

Source Pleaz??

cool

PS>Where is the interest Without Prince's involvement ?

the same interest for the Family without Prince's involvement

I bet if the Revolution get's together and puts out some good music
(in this day and age people are looking for that, too much clone music out there) also a reason there are a lot of 70's and 80's groups in the spotlights again, because people are tired of recycled wannabe's

I bet Prince would start working with them again

I don't know that he would admit to wanting to work with them again if they have a successful solo thing. Prince appears to be too stuck in having things his way, which admittedly is a very personal statement about someone I don't know personally.

My question is why would they really need Prince? Let Wendy lead a song using the Camile effect and no one may know the difference. razz

I believe the Revolution would enjoy the same interest and support that the Wendy and Lisa solo projects have garnered; the same anticipation that’s building for the New Time and Family 2.0 projects. People are hungry for real music by real musicians. This project is long overdue and if it happens I believe it will have been worth the wait.
Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!

I don't believe this will ever happen, but it has been something I've been wanting for years.

Wendy and Lisa kinda pooh-poohed this idea in their .org interview, though maybe they can be swayed...?

It'd be cool to see a Revolution reunion album with revolving lead vocals, including some guest vocals and maybe an instrumental or two. Whether or not that's a realistic idea is another story...

Yeah, W&L seemed doubtful it would happen and Wendy even said that it wouldn't seem "right" without Prince.

These are accomplished musicians in their own right. I understand using the Revolution name for visibility, but maybe they should use a completely different name and sell the music completely on the merits.

It's sad that Prince doesn't seem to realize fully the impact he had on pop culture with the pre & post-Revolution band proteges and that whole Uptown Erotic City Paisley Park vision he had then, as a whole I'd say 99% of the people in his camp believed and still believe in it
He had a Dream Team the Revolution the proteges Alan Leeds, Susan Rogers, I don't think it's a coincidence that when Lovesexy was over(most of those above were gone) that Prince became kinda ordinary

Prince fully realizes this, and easily so... He just lives in the NOW, and that is what has kept his music fresh 4 so long.

I hope you realize that I didn't say it was a definate
I don't know what you think I'm talking about
I did say it SEEMs which for me it steems from musical choices and sometimes an adverse or rejection on fandom

I'm not the only one, even people who were in his camp for a long time Alan Leeds for example said something similar

But back to my opinion: I pick that idea up from the library of music he has and there will be shows that are full of other peoples music. Prince isn't some newbie on the scene, he's a definer of pop culture, his music style and his edge of the Minneapolis sound is so unique, that hearing him play the soul oldies or whatnot just doesn't seem to do anything for me

It has nothing to do with living in the NOW or the PAST
I don't think his music has been all that Fresh all the time
a lot of hits and misses, I love his latest album, but you don't even hear much of it at shows,
Yet he is still one of the top performers out there

Thanks for the update. Now I'm wondering if it's a Prince thing or if they are unable to come together as a group.

well, if you watch the wendy & lisa video interview they did for the .org, they said that they weren't crazy about the idea of doing a revolution reunion if it doesn't involve prince, and they're not holding their breath waiting for that to happen. i hope W&L can be swayed, because i think the revolution could do something cool with or without prince.

I think what they should do is just perform together, get together and jam, do some impromtu shows ... head 2 1st Avenue

jam with Sheila E, call up Jill, heck even slide Cat on the stage, let her do some of those early Prince moves while they jam on the instruments

That will get something sparked for them
the original Time the Family & Mazarati are hanging and jamming again why not the foundation bandmembers of the protege bands
