hmmm I don't know. She said it was a time when he didn't have Susannah in his life or them. So she seemed to have the history right. But the song lyrics don't have anything to do with a break up of any kind. To me, it's about how love is elusive and how the world in general is so messed up. But I see your point because Lisa brought it up right after.

anyone got the lyrics to the song In a large room with no light?

Lana drew a picture in school 2day
One that made her mother cry
A picture of a woman with a drink in her hand

Standing by a child with no eyes
Washington reaction based upon revenge
Babies blown 2 kingdom come

Damn the logic
Cartoon characters look better when they're on the run
Danny dropped the dime on his girlfriend

He said he didn't wanna go 2 jail alone
The seed lives in the same mind

With the thought that says we all should be stoned
And people lookin' 4 angels in the sky

Whenever they're broken-hearted
Love is grown, seeds are sown
A fire don't burn unless it's started
Did U ever feel that life was like lookin' 4 a penny
In a large room with no light?
A sophisticated man reduced 2 company in no-win situations
That aren't right
Everytime U wake up there's a little motherfucker
Talkin' big stuff in your face (Are U happy?)
U only get the kind of people that open their mouth
just 2 swap feet
Welcome 2 the rat race
Did U ever feel that life was like lookin' 4 a penny
In a large room with no light?
A sophisticated man reduced 2 company in no-win situations
That aren't right

Oh, if U could just pass your history class
Maybe life would be alright
Until then U'll be lookin' 4 a penny

In a large room with no light
Yeah!
Life {repeat 2 fade}

Interesting;

Fascinating points:

- They had little creative involvement on Planet Earth and Prince only used the vocals, not the other instruments he assked them to try. It was a case of here is the track, add this.

- They were pretty candid in that they really do want to get back with Prince and genuinely seem to feel lost without him.

- Inalargeroomiwithnolight was about the break up with Wendy and Lisa but told as if they left him.

- They were fired by Prince in the same house and room where murders had taken place

- Invisible was about Prince - glad they confirmed this as I thought so too, especially with the line 'When you were mine', although many ppl here at the time said it was about Wendy and Lisa's relationship.

I liked seeing the interaction between them both, it was quite fun, especially when they kept trying to jog each others memory!

- Lisa wrote Power Fantastic - such a beautiful and emotional song to me. I always thought it was 'isn't your life elastic' before too (instead of 'in your life at last')

Great insight to great musicians.

Well, the Menendez murders happened in '89 so apparently the firings happened BEFORE the murders not afterwards or that would have been coldblooded! Ironically, the Menendez brothers went to the movies to see "Batman" as their alibi.
Get the funk up!

Yup. The house where the Menendez murders happened was rented by Warner Bros for Prince to have a place to stay while in LA. Papa Menendez bought the property after Prince's time there.

I like how they are so honest but they really are like jilter lovers with Prince. They are so hurt and can't understand why he doesn't want to tour with them again.

That was one band that he had and he's had many...he moves forward and has no reason to play again with those particular musicians...what would be the point? It would look pathetic for Prince do even do so...they just don't get it.

I think they fully "get it". They've admitted several times that "This is something we would really enjoy, but we understand that he'll never do it."

And, they mostly talk about a Revolution reunion in the context of a single show or a couple of shows, not a full-fledged tour or any new music.

As for Prince, I agree, he doesn't necessarily have any incentive to do it, and he rightfully should just keep moving forward if that's what he wants. But, it would hardly, by any means, make him look "pathetic", at least in my opinion.

In one of the recent interviews I remember her saying something to that effect. I took it that she's downplaying her looks or not caring how she looks. Doesn't matter, I love these ladies!

Sometimes looking back is moving forward as well. Bruce Springsteen reunited with his old band, making new music. The Roadhouse Garden project could have worked very well.

Like Wendy said, he doesn't believe in those musicians. He is going back in time with Sonny T and Michael B, just not the Revolution. But when I listen to the celebration with half of the Revolution present I hear unease. Prince jokes it off, but he is really not at ease with the Revolution. Oh well!

Interesting...so did they get mixed up in dates or did they mean it happened AFTER? The way they told it, it sounded as if it had happened before they were fired. Spooky anyhow!

I think that they said the shootings happened after they were fired. I'll assume they meant that, because Prince had obviously vacated the home before the Menendez' purchased the home.

Just had time to watch this now.

Wendy & Lisa's reputation as the coolest and loveliest of the associated artists remains firmly intact and deserved.

I loved the line about how now Prince was gonna steal their idea for doing one album in a different city each night. I wish Prince would steal some other things from them, like how to treat fans, how to run a website, etc. biggrin

Prince is the one who is pathetic, his recent relesed music should speak volumes of his 'popularity' and 'musicianship'. Prince was at his best when he surrounded himself with inner-circle musicians who could be trusted. I think its B.S. that Prince can have W/L on beckon call to 'do stuff with his music' but when asked to do a reunion nite or even a short tour he shuns the opportunity! The dude is genius but just doesnt get the simple stuff, strange and weird...shelfish. What would one pay to have 'The Time' open up for Prince and the Revolution for lets say two months in Las Vegas at the MGM? 100.00-200.00 a ticket?.... I'll say it again, it will happen sooner or later, trust me.

probably at different times in their careers between the break-up of the band and now there might have been times where one of them might have thought "hey, it would really help out if we could make some extra money with a revolution reunion", but for all we know, that could be for any number of reasons - to help get their kids through school, to help pay for a house, etc.
