Dance Your Ass Off--Mayte

NEW SERIES AND SPECIALS

“Dance Your Ass Off”
new show on the Oxygen channel features Mayte as a judge, don't know if this has been posted already or not?

Premieres: This summer
Oxygen brings dance, diet and divas together with the new dance/weight-loss competition series “Dance Your Ass Off.” TONY Award®-winning actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, well known for her role as plus-sized Tracy Turnblad in the hit Broadway musical “Hairspray,” will serve as host. In this unique show, talented, full-figured contestants who struggle with their weight will dance to unleash their inner thin. Each contestant will be paired with a professional dance partner who will train them for their weekly stage performances - ranging from Hip Hop, to Ballroom and even Pole Dancing! Then they’ll shake and rattle their rolls in front of a live studio audience and a panel of expert judges: choreographer Danny Teeson, dancer/choreographer Mayte Garcia, and dancer/actress Lisa Ann Walter. “Dance Your Ass Off” is scheduled to premiere on Oxygen this summer. Executive Produced by SallyAnn Salsano of 495 Productions and Lisa Ann Walter and Kate Rigg.

Why begrudge somebody who's actually working? In this economy the arts have taken such a hit, seems to me to be a good thing to actually keep the bills paid...

Same thing could be said about "Dancing with the stars". No one knew who Carrie Ann Inaba or those other two were until this show became a hit shrug

Smooches;)

WRONG... the arts have not taken a hit, documentary viewing is up, fiction film is doing great, tv not doing too well because of the strike not the economy

Her doing this show will FLOP, its not on a major network so no one will care.
it'll be like when Carmen tried to take over Jenny McCarthy's spot on MTV =D

or when that stupid blonde chick tried to replace Pam anderson on baywatch hahahahahahaha :snort: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

She is no "Carrie Anne"

Interesting, from what I'd heard in the dance world many of my friends in companies, as well as freelancers are suffering, but I suppose that's neither here nor there.

In any event,I wish her the best of luck, and as with any artist on the grind, hope that continued blessings come her way.

Dancers are different, they NEVER do well wether its a good economy or a bad economy or a strike or no strike. Dancers are not respected - even if you are a ballet trained yatta yatta yatta .... trust me t's my world.
