i know many of you think that prince should be alone on the stage but if prince had to have a new backup dancer, what would you like to see from her?
what would you like her stage persona to be?
what elements would you like to take from past dancers hes had and see again? and what ideas did you think were horrid and you never want to see again?
or do you wish hed just go back to one of his previous acts?

Personally i think that Prince should dispense with dancers altogether.Diamond & Pearl & The Twinz were an annoying distraction to the live shows.I think these people work much better in video promotion (ie.Gett Off).Athough it could be argued that having a single dancer performing as a love interest worked better as in Cat & Mayte.However i wasn`t overly bothered when these two left the band either! I think these type of dancers work better on the oldies circuit to detract from the fact that the `star` has faded & can no longer cut it!! I think Prince gets it spot on when having people with musical talent in his band like Rosie,Shelby & Marva.These people shine when given a solo spot,get the crowd going & can dance a little too!
Please note that i haven`t mentioned The Game Boyz as i have had extensive theapy to delete those painful memories!!!

As for myself, I'd really like to see just Prince and his band...
the dancers tend to distract...there was a time I didn't think that.
Maybe it just means I'm getting old and can't concentrate on more
than one thing at a time

I really liked Mayte and the Erotic City dancers in the Acknowledge Me and Pheromone videos. It would have been cool if had brought them all on the Gold Experience tour.

But now... I guess the band dancing like The Revolution did would be enough. That was one of the things that attracted me to Prince And The Revolution in the first place, the way they all moved to the music while playing it. Impressive.

If Prince had to have dancers, and I dont think he need them , a boy/girl duo with moves like Ciara and Chris Brown would be pretty cool for Prince's upbeat numbers. Otherwise, I say dispense with the dancers and lets just let my baby do all the grinding. Cat was the best tho then Mayte. them twitz and cubic zarconia/rhinestone girlz were dull as i dunno what.

I remember seeing Prince and the pre-Revolution performing Head(this is not about the song) but the way they moved. When they said "Head" they did a jump at the same time,(Prince jumping back n forth between Dez & Andr/Brown) and then whip their instruments upward. They had some hot moves

The Revolution even Bobby popping up and down, I love the movements of the band on Computer Blue, I Would Die 4 U, When Doves Cry, Raspberry Beret, Girls & Boys, Mountains such entertainment

And the post-Revolution bandSOTT/Lovesexy they had the moves too Cat was original and I don't think any of the following dancers had the connection she did with the band.

I saw Prince and the Batman band perform the Future and it was cool how he,Mico & Levi incorporated a party line dance move

Sheila E's band and video were hot too, the really had some hot moves
the Sister Fate video/performances was really tight
Glamorous Life had to have some sexy in sinc moves
A Love Bizaree, Sheila still has the moves, she was doing that step at the Congo Room when singing Hollyrock

You don't see a lot of that kind of 'performing' anymore

I think if he continues with the dancers he should put them say on his right side behind 2-3 mics behind the base player, and that way if there is a song with some acting/Prince-dancer interraction one of them can come down and move back in forth. Something similar to Jerome & Cat when there was the 3 piece dancer section. Or if it's one like Shelby put her in a similar spot like Jill Jones stood in.

But Cat was the best. She was just wild just like Prince, she dropped, did splits spun, ran twisted right along with the musical breaks and changes
I enjoyed her better with the 2 male dancers...

Another thing I think that made her special was that as a dancer she actually created her dance moves to Prince's music. This was before she was a part of his band. That brought a level of respect to his legacy music and vision. Mayte actually was not a fan of his and only at the insistance of her mother became his dancer.

I loved The Twinz and the fact that they can actually dance and perform next him without just being eye candy. I hope he maintains background because thats what makes a show and as much as I dig staring at Prince longingly whilst he performs on stage it would get pretty awkward after awhile without something to distract me. Besides, every show he does, he upgrades the acts.

if at all, a dancer/percussionist/backing vocliast like KAT.
the twins were USELESS and made him seem older than he was.
he should ditch objectifying women and stick with dudes in his band for a bit. it's old and stale and plus he's at an age now where he doesn't need to resort to cheap tricks.

UGH UGH The twinz have moved on thank god! Im sure they are nice people but who cares about back up dancers anyway. Prince does not need them, they are overrated and annoying. I agree with Vanity fair's comment. If you are good at what you do you dont need a circus around you. Stick with a Great band and keep it simple stupid!

Its too bad he cant find some bad bitches to flank him, I mean real sistas with fierceness. Althogh I liked Mayte she lacked that verb. She was good and fly and all but didnt have that x factor of Cat.

the most exciting thing about the twinz was that they were twins.

I don't mean to sound biased but the ladies he has singing with him just don't fit the look, everyone in his band now looks 'old'(I don't mean old in age) like he went around to a bunch of people who used to be in the spotlight but are now singing at jukejoints and pulled them out. They don't even dress like a prince band...the keyboardist is cool though

I enjoyed sing the Twinz with Prince
Definately not a CAT, no other dancer came close, I did like Geneva though
She was hot with the Darling Nikki performance

One twin looked betta than the other...trying to figure out which one.
