Happy, Happy 2 U all!! Prince's sister Tyka Nelson just did a new interview on her life as a singer/songwriter and being the sister of Prince!! As well from her new Cd, "A Brand New Me", she sings LIVE, 1 of the fan's favorites titled, JOY!!

She speaks on their parents, growing up, Christmas (when it was celebrated as a family w/Prince, her new album and lots more!!)

Very NICE! She really reminds me of a MAVIS STAPLES and I'm wondering if this song is from GRAFFITI BRIDGE DEMOS Cause it sounds so REMINISCENCE of that time and also when he worked with THE STEELES. I think TYKA has a PROMISING CAREER if she sticks to it and plays at the right clubs. She nEEDS a FOLLOWING and GOOd PROMOTION. And yes, I own ROYAL BLUE....

Funny, I just updated my old vinyl copy of 'Yellow Moon, Red Sky' with a CD copy, I do quite like 'Royal Blue' too. I'll probably pick this new one up too eventually.

I'm extremely proud of Tyka and her accomplishments. And I want to send a special thank you to Emancipation Radio for providing the platform for myself & Tyka to broadcast her 1st interview to showcase her new project for the world to hear. I like how she says "I sound like my mother and father" response. Makes me think that there must have been something in the water concerning the whole Nelson family. Would love to find some of Mom and Dad's music on wax or CD - anyone got any ideas?

(And I do have to say it - if Prince and Tyka did a song or even album together, it would be positively haunting - I think it would put Michael and Janet's duet, awesome as it was, TO SHAME!)

A warning if you're expecting it to sound like her old songs - it doesn't - not in the least. There's this "thing" in the sound (possibly how Tyka interprets the Holy Ghost.)
