Vanity and Jamie Shoop??

Before you guys and gals read this-remember I'm not saying if the following is true or not, but it's something I read, so don't jump all over me if you don't agree.


I happened to read something a few days ago that caught my eye.

First, I read an interview with Vanity during the making of "The Last Dragon" (see this site: http://www.fast-rewind.com/dragon/). In this interview, she mentions that Jamie Shoop was her manager at the time!

Then, I read somewhere else that on her solo albums, Vanity gave credit to Jamie Shoop in her liner note thank you's. Does anyone here have those albums to confirm or disprove this?


Can you guys imagine if the Jamie Shoop who was originally in "The Hookers" ended up leaving Prince's camp with Vanity? The drama would have been crazy if that is true...

I just pulled out my vinyl copy of 'Wild Animal' and in the liner notes,Vanity thanks Jamie Shoop.

I find this really interesting. I mean, here we have someone who was originally in the Hookers lineup with Susan and Brenda. Then Prince brings in Vanity and Jamie Shoop decides to step down, letting Vanity take her place, so the group became known as Vanity 6. Then Jamie Shoop and Vanity leave Prince's camp and Shoop becomes Vanity's manager!

Does anyone else know anything more about this? I thought Shoop's story ended when Vanity came into the picture, but apparently not!!!

yeah,it is kinda strange how Jamie apparently left the Prince camp and became Vanity's manager.Jamie has got to be the most mysterious person who was ever associated with Prince....has anyone ever seen a picture of her?

There was no "drama". Jamie never really wanted 2 be in the group as far as I know. She was relieved when Vanity came on the scene. Her role as Prince's PA was coming 2 an end and it gave her a chance 2 grow in another direction.

I do know that Jamie and Denise continued to be friend/associates for a long time after the Prince thing was done. The last I heard, they had lost touch after some of the hurricanes in Florida caused Jamie to move. I don't know where she is now, nor do I know if Denise is in touch with her anymore. If I find out more, I'll let you know.
