Morris Day...still bad or washed-up?

Ok.. loved the morris day of the eighties, but Morris Day now.. feel that he's getting alittle too old and it definitely shows unlike prince..he still has his coolness that hangs by a few threads...what do you guys think..is he still bad or washed up?

Watch what you say my friend. I know it may not seem like it now but age is gonna catch up to you too someday.

Many of us oldsters have matured right along with The Time and so we can relate to the fact that even though the hariline may have receded and gravity has had its way with certain parts of us we still feel cool inside like we always did.

Guys like Morris keep it on the front burner and we love him for it.

By all means Morris and The Time are "washed up". I won't be tuning in to Jay Leno to see them that's for certain.

Morris has been stale for quite a while now.

I never liked him or The Time. I found them annoying.

I hate to say it..but, I only really ever respected the original band on a musical/musician level..I never was into morris and his whole persona..

I'd rather hear P do his material than any of his friends, ex side pieces, or the established artists he worked with.

Morris is/was like Pee Wee Herman or a drag queen. The music was just a prop.

But I'll always respect his perm though and so will people all over the world for it is mighty.

I'm sorry you guys are straight up hating. Morris Day, Prince are two different personas/acts. They're both fun to watch, fun to dance to and I'm so happy that they're doing their thang after all these years.

Morris is still cool no doubt but what is with doing "Jungle Love" on "The Tonight Show" every other year....both Prince and Morris lose cool points for doing Leno's show too often!

Morris is still bad to me. I like the way he performed with the time recently on that Michael Baisden show on TV One and also he is so smmoth how he plays his role as the musical director on the show.

But to be honest its not like when I watch Prince and Im amazed by his per4mance...its more like fun.Kind of like an old uncle who tells the same joke over every time you see them but you still enjoy laughing at it like its the first time youve heard it.I still enjoy the old songs and doing bird.IDK,he'll always be cool 2 me and I really dont think he looks that old.He looks pretty good 2 me

Morris is Cool. The band is tight. What more could you ask for?

....i know this is off the cuff but,


don't you find it strange how the "marketing," "media," or tastes always pull a "star" from the group to market. it's all a game for the strongest to survive. and after they run the remaining bands members/friends through the dirt, then they talk about come-back tours etc.

for instance, from the Commodores - Lionel, From the jackson 5 - Michael, the gap band - charlie wilson. that has always bugged me.

...what are media moguls thinking??? "...we don't have enough to market all you guys so we'll make one of you a mega star???"


i don't know, same thing with prince. yeah, he made it. he can reach back and help out!!!!! ...just share the wealth!!!! write a song for someone else every once in a while or sumthing!!!!


so, no, i don't think morris is washed up, his marketig team is on holiday.

I don't think he's washed up, but you have to admit that the same schtick that worked when we were teenagers does seem a little "played" when you're in your late 40's. I think it's "the voice". I don't think he needs to do it anymore. When you're the age that Morris is now, i think you're almost cool by default. You don't have to use "the voice" anymore.

I dig the man. Dude is cool. I don't think he's played out. I just kinda wish he'd do some other songs besides Jungle Love and The Bird. It gets monotonous after a spell.

But the man himself, Morris himself is a pretty cool dude.
