Anyone hear a track called "Girl Power"? Where did that one come from?

No,"Girl Power" was never a B-side.It's an unreleased outtake that Sheila recorded in 1988.Produced by Prince,"Girl Power" was recorded for her planned fourth album.It remains unreleased.Sheila left Paisley Park and started working on new material (without Prince),which resulted in her 1990 album 'Sex Cymbal'.

In late 1987,Sheila E. went into the studio with Prince,to begin work on her fourth album.By early 1988,a handful of new songs were recorded: "Girl Power","Latino Barbie Doll","2 Nigs Watchin' A Kung Fu Movie" (an instrumental) and a few others.I think Sheila realized that she needed to get away from the Prince camp,or she would forever be known as just another "Prince girl".She left this project behind,walked away from her Paisley Park Records deal and signed directly to Warner Bros.Records in 1989.

From what I've read, Sheila has said that she and Prince had different ideas of where her career should go, so she left. They might have had a little falling out over it, but they definitely kept in touch and made up later, because she still plays with him with some frequency.

As for Sheila and Prince....they had a bitter falling out in the early 90s.Remember Gilbert Davison? He was Prince's former bodyguard who was later "promoted" to President of Paisley Park Records.He and Prince opened a nightclub together (Glam Slam in Minneapolis) but the relationship turned sour,with Prince eventually removing all of his memorabilia from the nightclub.Sheila was friends with both of them,so she was caught in the middle.She performed a show at Glam Slam and this infuriated Prince.He wouldn't even allow her to visit him anymore."I'm no longer allowed at Paisley Park,but I still love him",she said in 1995.

The two of them eventually patched things up.

Don't forget to throw Kim Basinger, Carmen, Ingrid, and Jill Jones into the mix during the time of Sheila's exit and the hot-mama-drama is just too much to fathom!!

Who hasn't this guy fallen out with over the years? Theres a very sad truth in all of this, and that is that being friends with him is no joke. He makes alot of demands on people. But, when he walked out on that Grammy stage, the screams said something, I'm just not sure what.

I'm watching Krush Groove right now and laughing at Stef pretending to be Prince on vocals on Love Bizarre Sheila was/is a bad girl even with that eagle-bout-to-take-flight hairdo. I love her patchwork pants in this scene, but she kinda lost me when she was faking the guitar playing at the end. LOL! Krush Groove was the shit!

What does she call him in that scene? "You big koala bean head!" or something like that? That cracks me up.

My favorite part has to be when she slaps the fuck outta Blair Underwood. I remember the audience's collective "Daaaaamn!!"
