hmmm Sounds remarkably like the story of how Mayte was introduced to Prince!

Do you know if that meeting was separate from the Girls Tyme meeting?

I thought she met Prince during the time she was in Girls Tyme.
[Edited 6/18/06 3:45am]

She said that she met Prince because a relative or friend sent a tape of her singing to Prince and she was surprised to receive a call from PP asking her to come by.

She left the group before it became Destiny's Child. She said it was because she wanted to go back to school and finish her education there, as opposed to on the road. She also said that they parted on good terms, she has no ill will.
Come here, babe.. yeah...

OIC...I was under the impression that Gyrls Tyme, the group, met Prince. I didn't realize that Tamar met him on her own and not through the group. Thanks.

Some women are just plain bitches: they hate other girls for having bigger or smaller boobs, if the boobs they don’t hang or if they are just prettier.

Above all, this kind of bitches go nuts when they get old, then the hating and bitching gets worse and worse.

Take this situation: Tamar might be chubby, but at the end of the day she’s a pretty and young lady, and this Wendy whatever is just a plain whore whose best days date back looooong ago.

In person, Tamar is wayyyy prettier than in the photos. Actually, her official photos are the worst. I don't know what they're thinking. They could find more flattering poses for her that highlight her features.
Come here, babe.. yeah...

Trickology

Wendy Williams gets paid to be mean. Anyone that goes on the air and doesn't know that and do research on her is naive. And this false sympathy for Tamar? Give me a break. Most artists are publicity ho's but the sad thing is Tamar doesn't see that her project isn't gonna light up cuz it's very simple

A. She doesnt have the anthem single

B. She doesn't have a brilliant Manager like Kast's Michael Blue Williams

C. She is rolling with Prince

D. Universal likes chucking discs for laughs at the public because they have money to burn

and the final one...

E. No Kedar...

Universal is gonna drop Tamar faster than Basic Instinct 2 merchandise

And Im out.. wake me up when the new Prince project is announced

Damn! disbelief

I didn't hear the interview (I occassionally tune in on my way home...but more often than not I can't stand their stupidity)...however Wendy may be sore that Prince didn't stop by himself. When 3121 came out, she stated that she was interested in getting a copy of the CD and hoping that it did well, (hint!hint! Prince's people; Wendy wants some promo material and an interview), and maybe Wendy's inflated ego was bruised when the MAN was in town and sent his protoge to her (the same way Quincy was miffed when Prince dropped off Sheila and sped away in his limo during the We Are The World fiasco).

shrug C'est La Vie.

By now, every artist should be aware of what Wendy Williams is all about. If they're bold enough to go on her show, they should be prepared to answer potentially embarassing questions.Wendy is extremely rude, bitchy, nosy and yet she's oddly entertaining lol I sometimes find her amusing, although I'm ashamed to admit it,lol.

"Girls Tyme"...is that the early version of Destinys Child that Tamar was in? Was it called "Flyte Tyme" or "Girls Tyme"? confuse I thought Flyte Tyme was the name of a studio! lol

As for Mayte, supposedly it went like this: in July 1990, her mother sent to Prince a video of Mayte's dancing. Prince was so impressed by it he asked for more and requested a meeting, and the rest as they say is history. wink

Did Wendy actually say Flyte Tyme? Didn't Tamar correct her. What a bad decision, to go on the Wendy Williams show. She might as well do Howard Stern next. Reading the interview above, i have to say that Wendy wasn't has harsh as she usually is.

At least Howard Stern knows some things about Prince's music. He believe the Purple Rain is THE most important song ever. wink

who's Wendy Williams?

http://en.wikipedia.org/w...io_host%29

Wendy Williams (born July 18, 1964) is an American radio host and television personality. She was raised in Ocean Township, New Jersey and presently lives in northern New Jersey with her husband, Kevin Hunter and their four-year-old son. She currently has her own show called Wendy Williams Is On Fire on American VH1 and hosts a weekday syndicated radio program called The Wendy Williams Experience from its flagship station 107.5 WBLS New York City.

She is known to have frequent rows with celebrities including Tupac Shakur, Damon Dash, Whitney Houston, ect.

Williams attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where she majored in communications and was a DJ for the college station WRBB 104.9 FM. During college, she interned at WXKS, Kiss 108, in Boston. Later, she became a DJ for a radio station in St. Croix. After a few months there, she accepted a job on, WOL-AM, a Washington D.C. station, and then soon moved to the New York market, where she has worked for PLJ and Hot 97 (both when it was "Hot 97" and earlier, when it was "Hot 103.5").

In 1989 she was hired by 98.7 Kiss FM in New York as a fill-in DJ. As rival station WBLS was pilfering staff away from Kiss the station immediately hired her full time for their morning show and gave her a Non compete clause contract. That was when she started her gossip on celebrities. A year later she landed her own 6-10pm shift. In 1993 she won the Billboard Award for Best On-Air Radio Personality. In 1994 Emmis Broadcasting bought out Kiss FM and switched Williams over to Hot 97. One of the more infamous incidents on her Hot 97 show included a segment in 1995 where she aired rumors that Tupac Shakur was raped in prison. Not surprisingly, Shakur was furious, since New Jersey underground rapper Chino XL used this as a diss. However, he only addressed Willaims herself once, on the song "Why U Wanna Turn On Me?", which remained unreleased until his death in 1996. The late Shakur's boss Suge Knight has since become a frequent guest on her WBLS show.

She was fired from Hot 97 allegedly for outing co-worker Angie Martinez's romantic relationship with rapper Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest fame). Wendy then was hired by a Philadelphia station WUSL (Power 99FM), claiming that her NY fans "left her for dead" after the Hot97 incident. In 2001, WBLS hired her full time for her very own 2-6pm (7pm for the NY Tri-State Area) shift, making her one of the most listened-to DJs in the region. She is currently syndicated in Philadelphia, Shreveport, Hartford, Memphis, and Los Angeles among other markets.

Williams is known for being brash and honest in her interviews and refers to herself, a la Howard Stern, as the "Queen Of All Media." In both her television show and her radio show she dishes celebrity gossip as well as conducts interviews and speaks her mind about current events. She has hosted several installments of Wendy Williams is on Fire for VH1.

In 2003, Williams caused controversy when interviewing Whitney Houston and asking blunt questions about Houston's drug habits and other issues including her marriage to Bobby Brown. During several points in their interview, Houston berated at Williams for "going too deep" with certain questions and then telling Williams that she'd "meet (her) outside" if she wasn't "a lady with class". Houston also told her that "only (her) mother had privy to information" about her drug use saying "you talk to your child about that 'cause I'm not a child, Wendy!"

Williams has published several books and has won "Radio Personality Of The Year" awards from both Billboard and Radio & Records industry magazines.

In 2003, Wendy interviewed R&B star-singer Blu Cantrell for the album Bittersweet. During the interview, Wendy asked Blu about her sexual activities and practices, criticized other R&B artists, and talked about drug abuse with Blu. The interview was sold on a Bonus DVD with the Bittersweet album, however, it did not boost sales as it was intended to.

Alexander O'Neal's song "FAKE" is about Wendy Williams. She and Rupaul must have the same Make-up Stylist.
