Why did Apollonia get plastic surgery!?? Ok I just saw some new photos of Apollonia over at Housequake. She is still a great looking woman but it is obvious she got breast implants and did something to her face. I don't understand it. In Purple Rain she was so perfect...everything about her was great...she was a natural beauty.
This obsession with plastic surgery is kinda crazy. I know I have considered it before but if it wasn't in my face every second I don't think it would even cross my mind actually. Do you guys think Apollonia having surgery was a good idea or did you prefer the way she used to look? | |

IMO, the basic problem these days is not an obsession with plastic surgery, per se...the basic problem is obsession or fixation on looks, period, or the misguided idea that outward appearance is the most important quality of a person and unfortunately, if a person has the money and is inclined towards being willing to do ANYTHING to improve (?) their looks, they're going to consider plastic surgery. If it wasn't plastic surgery, they'd be spending obscene amounts of money and time on creams, lotions, weird products that make outrageous, unrealistic claims to preserve youth, and other beauty rituals. Sure, in superficial Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general, this mentality is even worse and most celebrities, A list to D list, can't avoid it -though some celebrities (like Jodie Foster, Diane Keaton, and Meryl Streep to name a few) fortunately don't cave in to it. Apollonia, however, being without much going for her talent-wise except for her looks, is probably having huge issues as she ages, and her "talent" slips away and she has little to fall back on. I'm not surprised in the least she's started down the plastic surgery road. I think people should try to be less concerned about how "beautiful" they are on the outside, and invest a bit more time and energy into cultivating and enriching their inner selves...which, in the end, translates outwardly anyway. In my mind she looks better than Apples. Looks like having a sense of spirtuality, and love of life keeps you looking young and healthy and that is something you can't attain from a doctor. | |

she looks like she's had a bit of botox around the mouth. she may have had implants. a lot of women who are naturally busty get them as they get older bcos of "the sag". the idea is that if you fill the skin again it won't sag as much.

I've also thought that she must have done several surgeries. She's still beautiful but she'd surely look good without the surgeries too, and more natural! You have to have a high self-esteem to resist something like that and obiously... It's a tough business and I don't really know how it's like to be in it so I don't really want to judge her. But of course I don't think it's something you should encourage people to do!... It's a subject I've been thinking a lot about and I still don't know what to make of it... | |

The really tiring thing is like fake boobs are become ideal. I really have nothing against "enhanced" boobs or anything. If it makes a woman feel better about herself I understand and if I was flat chested I'd probably get them done too but...err...it just gets annoying when the implant look is what young women are striving for nowadays. It's werid seeing a naturally gorgous woman like Apollonia who by the way had beautiuful breasts in the first place get implants to look more modern or LA or whatever....do you guys know what I'm talking about? And don't get me started on the face surgery...there should be no reason to ever mess with one's face unless you broke your nose or something and need it fixed. He said that hollywood actresses and Victoria Secret models are all nautral and strippers and porn stars sport the implant look. If you think about it it's actually true...hmmm...maybe I'm in the wrong job...maybe I should be a Victoria Secret model instead. LOL!  | |

I am not a big apples fan but I agreed that she look beautiful without the plastic surgery and she didnt really need anything done to her. I know sheila e looks good and I strongly doubted that she have anything done to her despite what others said since Sheila always sort of tried to steer away from the sex symbol status
and to those of you who dissed apples looking old and all well newsflash the woman is almost fifty years old so please...  She probably looks better than some of you going to be when you going to approach that age with or without plastic surgery. | |

I have few friends that lives there and they told me how so superficial and fake people are out there. I am not saying that all people are like that, because my friends arent, but since LA is consider to be entertainment capital of the world, I am not suprised. Like I said Appollonia looked beautiful without the surgery, it just too bad that she have to get one but I guess I understand due to the industry shes in. | |

The picture from APPOLONIA 6 was back in the 80's she is OLDER NOW.... Shelia had work done and Carmen and Mayte cause she was FLATCHESTED. BIG BREASTS OVER TIME SAG. But aroundher EYES are CROWS FEET. KRYSTAL is 24 years old so she says so OF COURSE YOU WOULDN'T DO SURGERY. She looks like a ROMANIAN WOMAN APPOLONIA. Krystal, she probably had plastic surgery because SHE prefers the way she used to look. In 20 years you'll know what I mean.
