Morris, "Jellybean" and Alexander

We all know that originally, Alexander O'Neal was supposed to sing lead for the Time.

But what if he did sing lead for them, who would be their drummer. Would Morris Day be the drummer or would it be "Jellybean" Johnson drumming for the Time?

I would think it would have been Morris. From what I understand, Jellybean is a hell of guitarist as well.

I'm sure Morris would've been drummer if O'Neal sang lead. Speaking of Jellybean...that dude was having a fantastic time in Purple Rain. When the Time is performing the BIRD, Jellybean's facial expression are priceless! Nobody looked like they having more fun than him! He was almost as much fun to watch as Morris and Jerome.

I read Jellybean actually started played guitar before drums. I read he started playing because of Morris.
