HOW MANY FANS BOUGHT MAYTE'S CHILDREN OF THE SUn ALBUM?

I did and I LOVE IT..... She did a really good job with these Prince tunes.

i think i saw it in a wrecka stow in NYC when it came out, but it was an import and sold for twenty five bucks or something, and i couldn't bring myself to pay that much money for a mayte album. same with 'exodus', though i found that online for ten bucks a year or two later.

Some of the tracks are quite good, actually. I like 'Rhythm Of Ur Heart'. Hornz!

Mayte's 'singing' leaves a lot to be desired, though.

i bought it from another Orger after I saw the "If I Love U Tonight" viceo on HOusequake. I liked the song and I hoped the rest would be just as good - I was a bit disappointed. The cover of "Brick House" is hilarious though. That voice - "She's mighty Mayte" - I was dying laughing at her attmept to sound "sexy/bad."

Considering that she is sooooo not a great singer, I think she did an okay job. The songs are catchy.

I have it and I like it. I'm not ashamed. I know some people think that her voice is to whiny.

Say what you want about Mayte´s voice ( she´s definitely not a great singer, but then again, neither is JLo) but some of those songs were fantastic, like, for instance, Ain´t No Place Like U, However Much U Want, In Your Gracious Name, If I Love U 2Nite, etc. etc.

All I´m saying is that there are some great Prince tunes on that album who unfortunately got lost in the whole process.

I wish Prince would revisit all those mid-90´s gems one day, sing them live or at least release them again, sung by himself or something.


The songs I mentioned above are great, IMO, and there are many other "lost" songs from the 90´s.

I have it. I may have gotten it at a Prince show. I thought it was okay.

I like some of the tracks, and I wish her first recording singles would of been put on the album Broken Wings & Too Dramatic
