Drummer extraordinaire John Blackwell Jnr is heading to Australia to play a series of drum clinics in September.

Blackwell's first glance at success was as drummer for the legendary funk group Cameo, which he joined in 1988. He also spent time performing with Patti Labelle and has been a member of Prince's legendary touring group since May 2000.

Anyone who has been lucky enough to witness any of these bands live would know that learning from John Blackwell Jnr is going to be helpful.

John Blackwell Jnr's Australian tour dates are:

September 7 - Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide
September 8 - Kaleide Theatre, RMIT, Melbourne
September 12 - Academy of Music, Brisbane
September 13 - Wesley Centre, Sydney
