Funny that you use the term "L4OA", which was the name of the website the "Collective" built; you know, the group of fans who were also backstabbing other fans and arguing over who got to be boss. There were some hilarious chats logs posted afterwards.

Then Prince started suing the likes of Uptown and other fan organisations. Ever wonder what happened to 7 magazine? Uptown? The Prince Family? Interactive? Housequake? All of them were repatedly threatened and harrassed by Prince or his associates, and finally they gave up.

Wanna know where all that negativity comes from? Back to then. When Prince and his "supporters" started attacking those who didn't join "the Borg". And it got worse from then on, e.g. when Prince's official website stopped having its own forums and all those famz move to the Org and were confronted -- gasp -- by people with opinions which were somewhat critical.

Oh, and before that Prince repeatedly made video specials in which fans were insulted by being portrayed as stalkers. And before that other unofficial fan mags threw in the towel after getting berated by Prince.

I'm getting the feeling that a lot of the new and long time returning faces are the Fams who made the org a messy place right after the official forums were shut. They eventually drifted off to worship elsewhere but I think his death has brought them back.

We are seeing a return of threads trying to tell people how they should behave or what a true fan is, rather than talking about Prince.
