Overuse of the word "Hater"

I am sick to death of this cliche'. It's rampantly overrunning the M&M forum!
How about banning the term, based on excessive, mindless use, directed at anyone with a differing view, that's unflattering to Prince. Even if the statement made by the poster, is factual. They're referred as a "hater".....
the official definition:http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hater

ENOUGH!

i agree. seems like the only people who are doing the real hating are the ones throwing the "h" word around left and right. people need to start coming up with more creative word choices, it sounds like a parrot emporium around here anymore.

Rather than stating WHY one disagrees with another poster, the term is casually tossed out, and is dismissive. I wouldn't refer to anyone as a "Prince obsessed, nutzo fanatic"! PONF, for short.
The term is disrespectful and narrowminded. confused

But that wouldn't be embracing free speech, now, would it?

Just laugh at them, that's what I do! biggrin

What it boils down to, is another method of "name-calling", that's tolerated.
Sure, it's free speech, but then, that allows me to refer to those, as "mindless fanatics, who enjoy a cult-like, lack of contact with reality, pathetic life"....where is the discussion going to go from there? Deterioration.(I would never say that to another member, it's just comparative thought)
As far as I'm concerned, if you can't state why you disagree, don't pull some lazy ass cliche'. Talk about immaturity.
There are many here, who do not "hate", simply don't agree with circumstances. confused

the over/mis-use of "hater" and "hate" on this site lately reminds me of when certain people say "support the troops", when what they REALLY mean is "support george w. bush". it's like a certain group takes a word or phrase and puts a whole layer of implication into it, which i think is a gross thing for people to do and they need to KNOCK IT OFF barf

True, it is overused.

I never used that word against anyone here though. No time for that, just love!

i was just going to say the exact same thing. it's getting out of hand on both sides.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Sometimes, cliches are a horse of a different color. But in this case, maybe it is the same old song and dance. I don't know if I use cliches, if I have, well nobody's perfect. I agree with you guys, it's all for one, and one for all.
