April 21 Memorial Fundraisers

Alright you Polaroids - let's go!
I'm gonna drop a challenge on you:

April 21 is fast approaching and my heart is already breaking anew. But I'm determined not to stay at home and mope but instead to make sure it's a fun and funky night, a celebration of life and music, and a fundraiser that Prince could get behind.

So this is what I'm planning: A dusk till dawn purple ping pong pyjama party fundraiser, soundtrack courtesy of Prince. Six or eight teams of players, each sponsored by individuals and businesses in our community, to play ping pong continuously from dusk till dawn. The team that raises the most money "wins", all proceeds are going to Autism Canada (a nod to Prince's Autism Rocks concerts). Music and videos throughout the night, starfish pancakes and coffee (maple syrup and jam and a side order of ham) as the sun comes up.

What u got?!

(Let's stickify this so we can keep the challenge up front and center. Replicate our event or come up with something totally different and awesome!)

So, tattoo suggestions are worthy of discussion on the main forum, but an invitation to commemorate Prince in a meaningful way that benefits others gets bumped to Fan Gatherings? Give me a break!

This is awesome! I am doing a fundraiser as well - for Safe Haven Homeless shelter in MPLS - with the Prince button and magnet sets (and nesting dolls) smile And meeting up with Prince Fams to honour him together - your ping pong pajama party sounds like an amazing time!

Extending our fundraiser for Safe Haven For Youth in Chanhassen to ALL fams! Commemorative Guitar Picks & Buttons (Org!) check Marketplace 4 info wave thumbs up!
It's only been an hour since U left me.
But it feels like a Million Days.

Glad to hear someone else is honouring him by paying it forward to help others. Hope you fundraiser goes well! Where are you getting your buttons and magnet sets? Is it something you produced yourselves or is it in cooperation with Paisley Park?

It's not in conjuction with Paisley Park, they were just a fan generated fundraiser that was co-sponsored by the Org - there are Org buttons too. 100% of the funds raised have been donated to Safe Haven homeless shelters or Little Kids Rock smile I think there might still be a post in the marketplace but I personally convert each button into magnets smile
