The Paisley Park Experience??

For those of you who had the chance to go to Paisley Park, either to a show or one of the dance parties that he had, what memories stand out to you most from that experience? I'm realizing now that if I ever get the opportunity to visit Paisley Park, it'll be nothing more than a museum, a monument to something that was, not a living breathing "wonka factory" of music, I guess you could say. Not being able to see him in person is something that I'll always regret, and just hearing about the experiences that were had first hand is thrilling all on their own. Please share!

Hopefully others that have way more experience than me will chime in here. I was only there once - well one weekend so three different nights. It was a 3-day holiday wknd. It was magical. I almost lost my shit when i stepped inside for the first time and took it all in. Felt as giddy as a silly little school girl. He didn't perform sadly. That was always the risk attending a dance party or dj gig there. But that hope is what makes you determined to try another time. I did see him briefly during my time there that wknd but was so disappointed he didn't perform more thn the 30 seconds he jumped on stage at one point. Caught glimpses of him back stage or scurrying up the stairs to his personal, private viewing space. But it was enough to encourage me to vow to return again. Unfortunately that was in Sept 2015 and the opportunities I believed were endless suddenly ended a few months later.

What parts of the compound did you see? Did you get to go into the atrium or were you just in that big room where they film stuff?

A lobby including an area where souveneirs were for sale. bathrooms (very nice btw lol), the L4OA room, and the larger room. The entrance used now that PP is a museum is where the atrium is. The entrance used for the public back then is now currently the exit. There were tours offered throughout the weekend I was there - which was album release party for HitnRun Phase 1, Liv W performed, dj's, LP Music performed - but I decided to save the tour for another visit. So I'm not sure what areas were a part of the tours at that time.
