Wow I never go to the fan gathering forum.

Part of this makes me feel sad though - the parts where they are showing footage of unreleased things - I hope one day they release it so those of that may never get to PP due to living in another country can see it. Afterall, not everyone is rich to fly to another country. sad

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind ๐Ÿ’œ

Just received in a PP email:

Tickets and New Special Packages for Tour Dates
Through March 31 Now Available

Paisley Park has announced that it is expanding and enhancing its tour of the legendary production complex by offering new, themed fan experience packages, starting December 1, in addition to the current General Admission and VIP tours. Tickets are now available for General Admission and VIP tours through March 31, 2017, in addition to these new themed experiences, while availability lasts.

Special themed experiences vary each tour day:
Thursdays starting December 1: VIP tour ticket holders will have the unprecedented opportunity to record live vocals over a short segment of a Prince song in the legendary Studio B control room โ€“ the same studio where Prince recorded countless hits, including songs from Sign Oโ€™ The Times, Graffiti Bridge and Emancipation. VIP tour ticket holders who record in Studio B will be able to take the live mix home with them on USB.

Friday and Saturday evenings starting on December 2 and 3: From 6:00 PM on, guests will be welcomed into the โ€œPaisley Park After Darkโ€ experience, in the tradition of the celebrated Paisley Park After Dark events hosted by Prince through the years. Friday evenings will offer fans a dance party with a DJ in Princeโ€™s private NPG Music Club, in addition to the Paisley Park tour. Saturday evenings will be Movie Night, featuring Prince movies and exclusive, rare performance footage โ€“ including video segments never before seen โ€“ playing in the Paisley Park Soundstage at 9:00 PM, with different movies and videos shown each week, in addition to the Paisley Park tour. On each Friday and Saturday evening, special dining selections will be available for purchase at the Paisley Park kitchen.

Sundays starting December 4: The โ€œBrunch Experienceโ€ VIP tour package will include a special meal in the NPG Music Club, featuring Prince music, videos and many of his favorite foods.

This was the opening of a Star Tribune story:

Prince's Paisley Park adds weekend dance parties, new tours to its mix
Fans will even have a chance to record their own Prince song as the Chanhassen museum seeks visitors.

Nice negative spin there. From day one PP management said they would be adding new/different things over time. The STrib sub-headline makes it seem like these things were added because they're desperate for visitors. rolleyes

Sadly, I think they will be. I don't see the museum having a long term future. The days have changed. Graceland is a one off. I hope I'm wrong.

It doesn't help that they are not willing to offer more than a few months notice of dates. Many people outside of the US plan their vacations 6 to 12 months in advance, so the dates are no use.

We'll see. It just became a museum I'm not ready to write it off yet.

I can imagine asking the tour guide where the elevator is, right after I see the urn. Then the tour guide says "I can't show you that, but in the other room you can dance until 11pm"

eek

Ok local people, who thinks they need to add an option for just the After Dark events? We shouldn't have to go on the tour every time we want to go to those.

confuse

so in order to attend after dark events, we would still have to pay for either tour?

and i assuming that with paying $60, we are allowed to stay there for 5 hours?

The $60 ($69.25 with fees) includes the general admission tour. The tours start at 6:00pm and continue every 15 minutes until 8:00pm. Everyone on those tours can stay until 11:00pm.

As an international traveller (coming to Minneapolis in early April, from Australia), I couldn't agree with you more.

I booked and paid for my trip when PP indicated that it would be operating 7 days a week, so I was pretty confident that I would be able to secure a ticket for at least one tour between Sunday and Thursday of my stay. Then, the uncertainty about its opening at all, followed by Chanhassen Council approval, and the decision to operate tours between Thursday and Sunday only. I was a little uneasy about this but still reasonably positive about getting a ticket for the Sunday because it appeared VIP tours were available every 20 minutes or so.

Now it appears that there are fewer tours operating on Sundays between January and March and still no information regarding April. This is really frustrating. I can't organise other events for my itinerary because I don't know when, or indeed if, I will actually get a ticket to PP.

Surely management at PP are aware of the need for international visitors to organise and confirm travel and tour arrangements well in advance. Hopefully they'll address this matter soon.

More folks need to contact them and provide this feedback! I too was under the impression they would open up the schedule for all of 2017. But as we see that's not the case. confused

I just asked on their FB page (as have others)...

Yeah that would be a good idea. Suggest it to PP management.

Yes people need to contact them about this. Though I wouldn't want a full year schedule unless I knew those dates were a lock and wouldn't change.

With the After Dark Dance party thing..... I wonder if there's an age rule? I'd like to go one of those nights, but I'd have my daughter with me. (she's 12). Wasn't sure if she could get in? I know there's no alcohol or anything so I was thinking there might not be an age restriction. (other than the standard, have to be older than 5)

These are all great concerns/ questions being brought up. As far as I'm concerned, with these new options being presented - I. AM. IN. So excited!!! The brunch option sounds lovely and perfect for a quick weekend getaway.

Listen to me closely as the story unfolds
This could be the saddest story ever been told....

Please email them at info@officialpaisleypark.com and suggest it. I did yesterday. Hopefully if they have enough people asking, they will add it.

That brings up an interesting question. I wonder if these DJ parties have a no profanity rule? I'm hoping so considering that was Prince's rule. Then you could have all ages shows.

I hope so!! My daughter would love it. She'd be the first one out there dancing! smile
