It has a great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and it's extremely close to MSG...2 doors down from BB Kings also. I'm mainly making this thread so I can get an idea of how many concert goers will be interested in meeting up at this location before the show and then making the 3 block trek to MSG together and I also want to make sure I reserve enough space at the restaurant because it can be pretty busy on a Saturday. Ticketmaster requests that you be there an hour prior to the show which will be no problem because it's close enough to walk. There are also lots of subway connections in this area and a taxi wouldn't be that expensive for such a short distance.

The offer is open to anyone who wants to come even if your show isn't on this day. I would love to meet more Prince fans.

I'm looking at starting the meet-up at 4 and ending it at 6 or 6:30 to give everyone time to get to the venue.

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to go over the plans for the pre-show meet-up at Dallas BBQs. On the website, they have a party planner section so I called and asked about details for just reserving tables since I don't know what everyone wants to eat. I spoke to Rosa and she told me they don't do reservations for this location for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday events. However, she said that at the time I requested the event for (4pm), there is usually never a large amount of people; so, we can all show up at 4 and they would have no problem seating us as long as all of our party is together. She said the wait for this time of day is usually 30-45 minutes no matter the size of the party -- guess their big rush is after 6 pm for dinner service.

Thanks to everyone who let me know they want to attend because it makes things a lot easier in the long run. I know Utopia is also planning a meet-up at around this time so if anyone who posted here chooses to attend her get-together, no worries. Bar 89 sounds like a great place. I initially only gave the Dallas BBQ idea because the food is good, the prices are affordable, and the location is great since many people are visiting from other cities and don't know their way around NYC very well. Trust me, I've been lost before when going to an event that was at a set time and it's awful. Dallas BBQ is 0.59 miles from MSG and Bar 89 is only 2.5 miles from MSG. They are both very close to the venue so if you get lost and can't figure out the subways (which can be challenging at times) a cab fare shouldn't be too much.

Anyway, sorry it took soo long to update, but PLEASE let me know what you guys want to do because there is no reservations made and I really just want to meet with some fellow Prince fans before the show. The location really doesn't matter at all to me. Hell, we can meet up at the bodega across the street from MSG and I wouldn't care , but I don't want anyone to feel obligated to choose between two different meet-ups so keep me posted by sending me an Orgnote and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Helpful information for anyone doing a WILL CALL pick-up on Saturday the 18th.

Madison Square Garden box office opens at 10AM till 1 hour after the start of the event. Providing all services (WILL CALL, advance ticket sales) at that time.

After 6PM the box office only does WILL CALL and sales of tickets for that nights event.

So you can pick-up your tickets earlier in the day and then go to BBQ's and not get stuck in a long line at the last minute.

Remember you will need the credit card you used for the purchase, photo ID and the order number to receive your tickets.

I'm flying in from Canada on the 18th by myself and will be seeing the concert on the 18th as well. It would be nice to meet some other Prince fans as well so I will be there forsure!

I'm looking forward to go to any kind of meetup, no matter what to eat, although I like chinese food only

because I'll go to 15th 17th 18th 29th concert, then go back to my city.

And I have a lot of free time to travel around NYC.

Sorry, it's not chinese but it's really good stuff and the drinks are excellent. Come on out and have some fun with us. We're all meeting at the restaurant at 4pm.

do they give u tons of food?? i was thinking i only have a room for the 15th show. they aint gonna let me bring in leftovers to the venue!! i'll be getting a appetizer if any food. but the way my ullcer is making me feel with all this stress and anticipation i'm lucky i can eat anything. i had one granola bar today........

Yes the food is plenty I usually get appetzers too the wings and shrimp combo
