DUBLIN PARTY IN THE BIG TREE

IF YOU GUYS ARE ON FOR IT

I know everyone is sad and hurt and a lot of people are angry. And not to know the full story is awful, and not to get an apology is really bad.

However i've noticed in the last few hours that the orgers sense of humour is coming to the fore.

I've spoken to the guys in The Big Tree and told them about loads of people probably still coming to Dublin and asked them would they still do a Prince Party Night.

They said they would be delighted.

What do you think?

In a week could we have beaten the depression, make sure it doesn't ruin anything and be in the mood to party Irish-style??

Not sure if I'll still come to Dublin or not. Sure, I'm not going to get the money back on the flight, or the tickets (bought them from Viagogo), but if I go to Dublin anyway I'm gonna spend even more money on the hotel, food, drink, petrol, parking at the airport, the catsitter(!)... I couldn't afford all this to begin with, but I was sucking it up because I thought it was a rare opportunity to see Prince, but now... I know Dublin's a beautiful city, but I think I just feel too sad and bitter to enjoy it now. cry

I'm sorry for all of you (and myself wink)
The ones who will go anyway: have fun, make Prince regret his decision (yeah yeah I know, maybe it's not his fault)

I feel the same way MissyP. My friends and I have lost our flight money and the deposit on the hotel rooms, but will be getting our ticket money back so we've decided to go shopping next week and buy some totally frivolous shoes instead. smile

I really hope that all you guys who going to Dublin anyway have a great time smile

I find it a bit odd that you want to get together to celebrate the music of someone who has just cancelled what seemed to be a major part of your lives..and boy isn't it going to be fun with lots of people all talking about the same darn thing!

Because in life you have to make good of something that has gone bad. Why not have a party and meet the people we spend time with in here. We all have the same interest and enjoy the music. We've spent money and are travelling to Dublin, so why not have fun together?

and a concert isnt a major part of my life - now my sons first sports day - now thats a major part of my life - sure we're disappointed - but you have to move on and get over it. Ive always wanted to visit Dublin so now heres my chance and reason to go! and meet lots of lovely people, im sure we wont just talk about a cancelled gig - far from it!

Hi everybody,

I was going to cancel my flight to Dublin, but hey, if there is going to be a party.....
In Holland it is all about soccer now, so it's a great way to escape the madness

What's wrong with soccer, 'our boys' (hate when people say that, now I do it myself) are doing great!

Its quite possible that the management of the Big Tree heard of cancellation and perhaps think no one will be there to turn up now???

Nope. It's all sorted with Big Tree.
If I were the first orgers to be going to Big Tree I'd leave it till 4ish to meet - then they'd be able to stay long enough to meet the rest of us!! Kids need to gone from pubs by 7pm in Ireland usually.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY....

I've raided the Prince collection at home, and extra music supplied to THE BIG TREE includes a little few 'bootlegs and rarities'...

(perhaps P wouldn't be happy, but you now what - he's not there!!)

The bar already has the usual Prince stuff

I've never met anyone before, and I've not been a member of org for very long.

But we had to do something!
