So many places I'd rather be

Where it seems I could be free

But the bombs burst in uniform fire

To quench all thirst of that desire

I wish I could wake up

To a world without hate

Without endless fear

Where we don't have to wait

Making our united dreams

In a BOOM! disappear...

.

As if they never existed

In the first place...

Who cares--right or wrong

Who occupied this space

First, and who will control

The land beneath us

To all, it's meant to belong

When all is said and gone

Will it help us move on?

.

I dream of a distant place

Where I can live in peace

Away from the rat race

Where human ills cease

.

No one lives helter-skelter

Wanting for food and shelter

And that stubborn wandering waif

Finally finds a place that's...safe
