Pretty sweet, Some of the trax almost have a Van Hunt vibe to them. Funky beats too & the song 'that soul' w/ the organ intro is nice. I also like the beat on 'i like', almost has a childlike sound to the beat.

Wow, is all I can say.

What do you do in this band? I can't wait to hear some final recordings of this, your vibe is happening.

Can you do this in a live setting? Do you play out with any of it?

Wow.....

You have an amazing funk sound to your music. I feel it's retrospective, but has a modern feel. Your bass and organ are simply fantastic. I love a heavy bass in music. But I feel there's something missing....I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe the word "missing" isn't the proper word. It's there, but it's not coming thru as best as it can be. It's the magic. See, every memorable, beautiful song as a soul and magical quality about it. It's what makes or breaks a song, it's what gives it's beauty and immortality, it's what makes the listener lose themselves in the music. For instance, if you listened to Chopin's Étude Op. 10 No. 3 or "Tristesse", even though there are no words and no back up instrumentation....you can feel the pain of the composer, his homesickness, his longing. The melody by itself should convey this magic, these emotions, and then lyrics would just bring it home. My suggestion would be just listen to your instrumentals (melody), and see if you feel what you want your song to convey. If you feel it, then add the lyrics to enhance it. Your singing style also helps bring out the magic in the song, and I personally think you're a good singer. The same criteria that apply for a melody apply to singing style as well. In other words, what you're feeling while you're writing/singing your music, your listener should feel the same when they hear it.

I hear some Prince inspiration in "I Like"... cool Very nice. And the piano on "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" was just divine. I sense a sorta classical style/jazz feel with the piano and it just gives the song a new direction than say Judy Garland's musical-style version. The harmony of voices was top notch. Nice interpretation of a classic I say. smile

Hope I made sense. If I didn't I apologize. But you have real potential. Keep at it. biggrin

Awesome, go out and get signed. Send your demo to Ubiquity Records and Daptone Records. Get a band together and start playing this music in front of people. You will succeed, keep it this real and don't compromise. I'll be watching for your debut and throwing down the cash for it!
