69 white doves they fly you up in the air
Feel good, though they’re intrinsically tied to your hair
Soon you’ll breathe the freshness of new morning air
But until then the dream turns into a nightmare
And there’s no escape from this affair...

From underneath my blanket I watch, but you can’t see me
Through the dark waves there sails an old hippie
and his guitar is crying, ‘cause he went crazy
from having been so lonely, out there on the sea

69 white doves they fly you down to the boat
The closer the sounds get, the clearer the notes
And then you hear an echo, like it was born in the dark
and found its way right to the flashing light of your heart

And like the guitar you just have to start ... cryin’
like the old hippie clown’s guitar
and the words get closer from way too far
they are...
