Day 1.

i had a bit of a detour.. it seems as though you can't walk across the Goethals Bridge in staten island. so i had to back track up to the Bayonne Bridge and cross over there up Bayonne through Jersey City and across the Lincoln Hyway. I was a bit piss off but i didn't give up. In Bayonne i stopped off at Foley's Yavern to get some directions. The ... Read MoreBar tender " Mugsy" had 3 teeth and a great smile. He asked me where i was going and i told him California and you should have seen the looks on the patrons face's. Classic! At first they didn't belive me so i pulled out my atlas and showed them my route i was taking. They all had a good lauph about the Goethals bridge but they were pretty cool about it. One guy Jimmy told everyone that i ws going to make it he said he saw it in my eyes. He bought me two bottles of very cold water and walked with me about a block. He said he wanted to represent Bayonne and Foley's in my adventure.

After crossing the Lincoln HYway i walked around the eastern part of Newark down past Newark Airport, while blasting The Gold Experience in my ipod, and across Elizabeth NJ. which is were i am now at the library. They are really nice here. after this i am going to eat something then proceed on ward. I am really hungry and my feet are killing me but... Read More i am just zoning it out. Another snagg in my plans.. my deposit for my weekly allowence won't be make until tommorrow. Don't you just love holidays!! 2 dollars in my pocket. I am gonna make the best of it. Day 2.


I am awake and i have no snake bites. I got a pretty good nites rest. Im drinking some coffee and going over my route plan 4 today. My goal lebanon for some proper camping. Thanks 4 the call last nite olivia it broughts up. I can already feel this experiene scratching at my ego. Who am i becoming?

He gave me a look over and then said i hate vandals and i thought hmmm did i pack tagging markers... No i didnt. A bit more mellow i said im just lost man can u ... I said thanks and he said dont let me find u again and said ok. He rode off and i walked to my site. I gotta stop batteries on phone is low.

So after pitching my tent i decided to make a fire, my first fire. I gather up wood from around the area, this also gave me a chance to scout the area. It was bueatiful and i realized i was but a stone toss away from a hugh lake. I took some photos 4 ya and will post them when i can. I gathered the wood and believe it or not built a pretty good ... Read Morefire. It was pretty big and very warm. Now it was time to cook some viddles. In my pack i had cuscus, peanuts and carmel sause. I mixed them all together. Now im no chef like will or dan but i tell ya it was pretty damn tastey and i ate it all gone. It was getting pretty dark now and with the exception of my fire it was black nite, a little fear crept in bcuz i was all alone in the wilderness and the thought of bears hit me. Melissa at the camp office told me that bears have been spotted and gave me the run down on what to do and no Jerry don't play dead. For time sake i wont go into details but she did tell me to tie any food in a bag and hang it from a tree far from where i was sleeping. So after supper (love the country slang) i tied what i thought was all my food up and hung it in a tree about a hundred feet away from the tent. I was going any futher. I made my way back to the tent and prepared 4 a good nites sleep and as i laid down what did i find? Peanuts! And i thought WTF! Im not going back out there hell no. Then my imagination show me a big as black bear cruising alomg the trail and catching a sniff of these nuts. Lol panick struck, what do i do what do i do i thought and just then i herd Prince call out oowah u no that sound he makes and i was hit with insperation. I went rumaging through make back pack saying out loud where is it where it is and my fingers grace the glass bottle. And i swear the heavens opened up and the angels sang in unison ahhhhh. I had found it my bottle of 3121 calone Kat gave to me as a gift. I wasted no time doucing that bag of peanuts saying take that u big black bear im gona put some 3121 on ya and turn u in to morris day and we gona do the walk right on out of here. Ofcourse i began to choke to death from the fumes and as far as i know that bear could have been at the top of the trail with his buddy craking jokes saying look at that fool what does he think we are squirrels and the other saying look at his scrauny ass like we would eat him ive seen more meat on a turkey neck bone. I aventually fell asleep and woke up the next morning.

Day 3 was a day of rest.

i stayed at the camp site thinking that i would avoid the rain because it was raining now. everything was fine up until about 11 pm. I am lying in bed reading a book and listening to This American Life on the ipod. when i started to notice that the ground beneath me was starting to feel like a water bed. i look outside and there is a river headed straight towards my tent. I started to freak out a bit. because it was dark and cold and raining really hard. what do i do... so i grabbed everything inside and run for the bathrooms about 100 yards away. then went back and took the tent apart and brought it back to the bathroom where i proceeded to wipe it down so it could dry off. I didn't want it to be wet in my back pack because it would be HEAVY. then fell asleep right there in the bathroom. with it pours cats and dogs outside. i was a little afraid, the whole Hollween thing.. Michael Myers walking in and having a field day. but then i realized. I am protected and no harm will come to me.

I had a dream that night and in the dream i was with Wendy of Wendy and Lisa. We were talking about Susanannah and she was about to tell me something when she said something about my music. I was surprised and i asked her wait you have herd my stuff. and she said... Yeah we all have... Its not like we were disecting it or anything it was on and we were all just talking while listening to it. I asked her what she though and she said... i am glad you asked because we weren't sure how you would take criticism. she said its over the top man its rediculious. it makes me spin while listening to it. I wasn't angry or anything just glad to know they were listening and had an opinion.

i woke up from the dream and realized that it was 630 am and gathered all my belongings and started heading west.
my goal was to make Allentown, Pa before the night was over.

i walked for 4 and half hours and i reached the jersey state line. i had made it across the the entire state and was still alive....

this is harder than i thought it would be... but not something i can't complete.

Today i met probably the coolest guy on my trip so far. His name is David and he is 17 years old. what was so incredible about his is he has 3 jobs goes to school and is a fire fighter. He was pretty amazing. I met him on a bridge. there was a convoy of motorcyles and truckers and what not who had left nyc on route to somewhere in georgia with a fire truck that was distroyed in the 9/11 attacks. while we were waiting for the convoy to approach. I had this conversation with him. He is very bright and has a really good head on his shoulders. He has so far been the kindest person i have met on this trip. He told me about some of the bands he had seen The Misfits was the most impressive one to me because they really don't play that much and they are legendary. what i like about him is when we were talking he didn't treat me like i was some bum on the street, we had a conversation man to man. we shared stories about each others lifes. He gave me a few cigerettes


and said this should last you awhile. Just very kind and generous. David is going to do great things with his life. I know this. its in his eyes. I conducted a small interview with him and when i am able to i will post it for you.

so after the convoy finished i continued walking to the town of phillipburg, ny and over the bridge to easton, pa. which is where the next person i met who had an impact on me.

i was talking to this lady asking her what she like about the town and she said you have togo to this bar and meet Larry Holmes. He is from here and he is always at the bar and he loves to meet fans and sigh autographs and so on and on. it wasn't but a few blocks away and i thought to my self what are the chances of him being there.. but hey why not..

i am really tired right now and can bearly keep my eyes open so stay tuned...

i am about to continue walking again in the morning. i can't sleep and i wonder... why? why do i need to do this. its not that i have no place to go.. is it? its not that i am not needed anywhere else... is it? its not because i have failed at everything else is it? why am i doing this? in doing this i do understand that the most precious thing that is being devoured is Time. Time that i can not replace.

I once told a friend on a roof top in new york that i was suppose to die along time ago. that my time had come and gone long before. I told him that i was living on borrowed time. so this time that i am taking to complete this journey. who's time does it belong to?
does it belong to you? and if so when will i run out of it?
we are living in very desperate times...
we must take the time to show love 4 one another.
who know what tommorrow will bring.

I would not have been able to have made it this far without your help and incouragement. You are the best and i hope we stay life long friends. I see a special surprise in your future. 11 hours agoJew DreamfirstbornHi everyone! So here i am at Blue Rock camp grounds just past Lenhartsville PA. I was origally suppose to stay at robin hill camp grounds but some how past it the turn off road while walking it was very dark along route 22 along the stretch and i ended up walking futher than i had to. A guy named Berger in a truck pulled over after seeing me and ... Read Morewant to make sure i was ok and i told him where i was going and showed him my map which was a bit confusing to both of us and he decided it was to dark 4 me to be on the road and offer me a ride to where i was going. After driving around we had problems find robin hill it was a distance from the main road and us driving around made it worse so in stead he took me to Blue rock because he knew exactly where it was which was 3 mile from where he found me and since i have to walk it back tomorrow dont see it as cheating. My leggs are refusing to execpt any other option. So here i am. Total walking distance 23 miles today.

i have made it to Altoona Pa. I have walked almost 300 miles give or take a few. I wish i could keep you updated on a daily basis but i can't log onto the org from my phone. I am having a very interesting time, walking about 20-30 miles aday. and i must say MY FEET are killing me. but i am getting use to it. and they don't hurt as bad as they did when i started out. I have pictures and i am keeping a journal of this journey on my facebook page. which is www.facebook.com/dreamfirstborn

i miss not knowing what going on in the PRINCE world via the org but i am catching up right now at this library. i am doing alot of writing... hopefully i can bring u something new soon. we will have to see.

Hi everyone!

so while i was in Weirton, Va i met a guy who told me he was a toy and games maker and how he was going through a hard time because of the economy. He told me he was going from city to city showing his games at various stores, He said he wanted to find a way to be able to show his products without having to spend so much time on the road. After dinner i told him what i do back home in NYC. We put our heads together and with the use of my digital camera we made these instructional videos for his games.







it was a lot of hard work putting these together on the fly, but it was a bunch of fun and i got to spend time with some incredible people.

Don and his wife Sharon took good care of me while i was in Weirton, We shared stories, laughs, broke bread and drank good wine. Don is from South Africa, and Sharon is from Weirton, who use to be a book for folk bands that would come over from the UK. They are pretty famous in their own right and have had some amazing times in life. I had a great time with them.

will be in Zanesville, Ohio in the morning and will hope to make it to Lancaster by night fall or close to it.

I had a dream with Sheila E. last night. she wanted to start a band with me. she was funny cracking jokes. at one point she was laughing and said "you so ugly u look like three 6's" and then she said " you look like the wrinkles on the back of an old mans neck" and just when i was about to crack one back at her about her teeth she said "watch it yuck mouth" and i started laughing so hard i woke up.

just thought i would share.

back on the road tommorrow morning first thing.
