36 Cents 36 Cents - by Eagle Bear
Ambition and clarity Go hand in hand Right off the cliff Blind-sight meets hindsight And I want to walk out But the words Just keep on coming out of me Pounding the paper Like a fist on the pavement Outside the valet parking At the Fairmount Hotel (36 cents to my name) One choked sob Escapes my throat (from the depths) And at that precise moment Those priceless words, Spoken to me Saturday afternoon, Echo in my mind once more: "I feel shy around you." And somehow the hole in the bubble Really has gotten a little smaller. ©2008 Eagle Bear | |

What a wise investment.
