HIP HOP DECODED

http://www.crystalinks.co...coded.html

Brooklyn ... September 12, 2006

This evening, after a long busy day, I decided to relax and watch the Sci Fi series Eureka. It was 8:35 and 35 minutes before scheduled programming, so I decided to flip through the channels to see if there was anything of interest.

Through the years I have met people who produce TV shows on BCAT - the Brooklyn Cable Network, but I had never stopped to watch them, as I watch so little TV, and frankly didn't know what channel they broadcast on.

I relaxed in the energies and lights of the Verrazano Bridge ... music, harmonics, and my two workshops next week on my mind. The sides of the bridge and its cables always remind me of two giant tuning forks blending harmonics with the energies of the cables.

... And so we attract by synchronicity ... that which we need.

As I flipped through the channels, Z (spirit guide) suddenly shouted Stop! I am conditioned that ... when he shouts, "Stop!" to stop dead in my tracks.

It turned out to be the BCAT channel. The program in progress was called "Self Awareness: Who's Truth - Holistic, Spiritual, Mind & Body Awareness" and was hosted by a black woman named Rose Whaley.

Her guest was a man named The Black Dot ... who wrote a book called Hip Hop Decoded. - Matrix of Hip Hop.

On the show, The Black Dot (good metaphor for zero point) talked about Hip Hop music and how its messages have changed through the years, much to his dismay, and the reason he wrote his book.

Music takes you on a journey. As I watched him, my consciousness traveled back to my High School teaching days in Brooklyn, in the 1980's, when students often rapped between classes and we all enjoyed the show. I can't say as I listen much to Hip Hop these days, maybe I'm getting too old, or there is an anger and attitude about it that didn't seem to be there years ago ... not sure. I am not aware of the messages this music brings to today's youth, but the energies seem very different, as they generally are from one generation to another.

Music makes a statement ... and will continue to until the final chord.

Grids are created by harmonics, music of a specific timeline, a reflection of those tones echoing into our vibrations, and emersing in our thoughts. Don't the harmonics of one sound (generation) help created those that evolve next?

Black Dot talked about growing up with the music of Al Green and the Isley Brothers which took me on another trip down memory lane.

Most interestingly, Black Dot talked about spiritual things that rang true for me. He has found a vehicle to reach young people about the kind of things we have come to take for granted, that is another form of metaphysical and healing modality. Very cool! He said ...

I've studied many things in Metaphysics, including Astrology and Numerology. People need to understand what's going on in the world today, not focus on material things, to allow for the movement of consciousness from this level to the next frequency, or fourth dimension. The vibrations of 2006 are healing us, as is some of the music, but not all. Music locks you into a frequency and teaches you. The planet is heavy now, with too much focus on material things. This can hold us back from shifting consciousness to higher dimensions. People need to understand the importance of music in shifting consciousness.
Hip Hop is embedded in my DNA.

Time is an illusion. Music is a time marker. It moves the consciousness of the people along. It reminds us of things that once took place.

Rose added, "People need to understand the truth about consciousness and the evolution of humanity. That is where the power is."

Harmonics are encoded in our DNA as they create our personal programs. At the end of the program one note will trigger all the souls home.

As the program was ending, I thought about Stuart Mitchell and how harmonics have become a focus in my life now. I guess Stuart and I are on the same wavelength, because at that moment he thought of me and called, though it was 2:00 AM in Edinburgh. There is no time, just projected illusion created by sound, light, and color, in a reality of dreams, just across the pond. Stuart and I talked about the connection between music and math - harmonics and geometry. This energy builds as we move toward next week's workshops and its harmonics. Stuart and I will be teaching together this month.

7:10 PM Email from Daniel also across the pond ...

Dear Ellie,
I'm a daily reader of your column! It was great to see you have written about hip hop today!

I am a huge hip hop head and it was great to see you write about it. I have wanted to email you and ask you to write something about hip hop for such a long time but it seems to have just happened on its own!

In the UK the hip hop scene is quite underground because we speak the "truth" and big business doesn't want to promote that. The real hip hop is at street level where people rap constantly and stay true to its roots. There is a belief that it is the poetry of the 20th/21st century. A lot of the older generation don't listen to it (maybe it is too fast?) but there are so many messages to be picked up from it.

The majority of hip hop pushed to the youth today is negative, but positive hip hop is out there! Its just that many of the people that make it have to work 9-5 to keep their art going in the evenings. There is such raw energy to hip hop it is unbeliveable!

We, as the youth of today, have so much to say that we use hip hop! It is also used as a way to escape the reality of daily life, (guns, drugs and dysfunctional parents), where we can be ourselves and be creative.

Sorry I'm just babbling on and on, but thank you for writing about it! At least your readership may aim to understand it more now and not believe in the negative conations that the media has given it! There are lots of very cool rappers out there with all the moves but like most things they are hidden for the few to find smile

If you would like me to send you a few tracks I could, but if its not your thing then don't worry!

Thank you for all your writings and website, it has had such an impact on my life and my perception on reality. You are truly a beautiful soul spreading knowledge.

Keep on going and rock the planet!!!

Peace, Love, Light,
Dan

Everything has a frequency and music is the embodiment of that, then there's people tuning into a frequency in which they relate within that music. That's the "vibe" I refered to in your other thread.

and to relate to your post "what makes Prince different than others", my answer was DNA cuz it's exactly what I meant. It's rather difficult to explain the concept with words, but the "grid of harmony" of Prince is one that fits (me) the most.

its intresting cuz every day i find myself having to be very selective about the things i want to define for myself, and the things i'd rather leave nebulus and vague...

Music is one of those things where i can never feel satisfied unless i get right to the root of it.

i agree with beau's comments in the other thread about how the thrill of discovery is a neat thing to keep, sorta like 'mayb if we dont know the secrets it will make them even better'...

but 4 me, i wanna know exactly what music is, what it is doing, where it is going, where it comes from... because as a musician, i feel like its good to know exactly what i'm working with, so i can use the skill wisely as i can.

the science of music might not b everybody's cup of tea, .. and there's nothing saying good music cant b created without knowing the science behind it..

but seems the world is heading in some very strange directions, and some very beautiful ones too.

i guess its nice to know a little bit more about the most powerful spiritually creative force we have to 'play' with, considering it's ability to shape cultures.

i think Prince once said Art Creates Society, and he certainly wasnt the first, but its a good thing to consider imo. x
